okay, latest info i get from fedex themselve

due to the shipper didnt show clearly about the shipping cost
kastam will assume the shipping cost according to the chart provided by thread starter which will be rm322.15 for <6.4kg (from Japan)

TO AVOID THIS,
REMEMBER DO NOT ASK SHIPPER DECLARE YOUR ITEM AS GIFT (as they will just show out the total cost rather than the breakdown of the figures)
WHEN THERE IS NO SHIPPING COST DECLARED, THEY CHARGE U RM322 FROM JAPAN

I just suffed this case buying from cdjapan
so for those who want to buy from them remember DO NOT tick the SEND AS GIFT option especially when your total value is lower than RM500 else u will actually paying more which is unlogic LOL

my item total 12000 yen which is RM384(rate assume 0.032) including shipping
they assume my total value =
rm384 + some little charge(few ringgit, forgot what charge is it) + so called KOS TAMBANG DAGANGAN RM322
= rm703
but according to fedex they say 12000 yen convert with 0.0318 = rm31x LOL dono how they calculate but

anyway it charge 10% from the total value (RM 65+) which cost me rm65.22
in the end my total pay for the items = rm408(VISA card charge more than usual rate) +rm65.22 (additional charge becoz of ticking GIFT option whistling.gif )

In conclusion,

lesson learnt: do not declare ur item as gift and ask ur shipper to declare the shipping fee clearly else kastam will charge u for shipping according to their BOLEH rate. malaysia kastam do not encourage us to buy gift or receive gift from oversea. they want us to support local products whistling.gif

good luck all

this is just wrong.... sweat.gif
partly the seller fault....
in their invoice it should clearly stated the shipping cost or FREE shipping
and when they write it on the courier slip...
declared value must be lower than what is shown on the invoice which is include the shipping cost...

btw saw your CDjapan site...and i check there's a clause there
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/help/payment.html#9

so it's partly also your own fault if you select this option.... rolleyes.gif

well i guess is cdjapan fault, from the statement about gift, even i ticked, it will not show value in the packing slip, which is only a clear list of what u ordered and its put inside the box. But still outside there will be a invoice listing those values. The problem is cdjapan didnt fill in the freight charge. Now i am having 2nd attempt without ticking gift option, but from the statement guess will still kena tax if they attempt not to fill in the freight charge again. (dono why, mayb to reduce their actual sales bill so that they can avoid part of sales tax? since their bills are all without shipping charge..or thats fedex tactic? suppose a courier company shouldnt let ur customer fill the form or declare incompletely. Even u fill in 1 yen still consider filled rather than allow them empty the space. Free shipping should have a clear statement. Courier companies should reject those forms not filled properly LOL
Even we do postage locally, when u fill in the bill, the ppl will also guide and ensure u to fill in all information. But fedex seems didnt do their job

So ur suggesting that if for my case if i did not mark it as gift, i could've avoid being tax?  hmm.gif

even if not mark as gift, guess it will still subjected to tax if cdjapan didnt fill in the freight charge again. I tried to mail them about this case but they didnt reply for few days. Before that, i ask about the gift option, they told me its the same as normal they will declare same things in invoice outside the box. But when i ask them whether it is able to help me fill in the actual shipping cost, they didnt reply me mail already. Not sure its coincidence(since my parcel is sent today before they reply me the latest question so they dont wan to change their paperwork) or they make silence in the case. So i hav bad predict that my another parcel will be kena tax again. This time even higher item value LOL...it should reach these few days lets see how..currently i am asking amazon whether they will provide a clear statement in their invoice. if cdjapan still refuse to fill in while amazon will provide clearly, then its time to say goodbye to cdjapan maybe doh.gif

cheers.gif agree with all the points you said. However since CDJapan sometimes still have better deal, i'll shop with them with the safe limit of purchase not over RM200. that's the only biggest hope now

i received my parcel, and its the same case again
the invoice is not filled with carriage value
cdjapan claim that the invoice is done by fedex, so i assume that they just provide the custom value to fedex and other paperworks are done by fedex
while fedex malaysia claim that the error is due to shipper didnt fill in carriage value
so i guess its fedex japan that made the error

this time i called to waive the tax, but only managed to deduct some
cdjapan declare the custom value with the price excluding shipping (before discount using points)
my total value is 13313 yen + 2340 yen = 15653yen
still exceeded rm500 so kena rm51 tax but better than before rm76 tax

the office told me this time they help me deduct ( means next time might not be able to do so?)

while i ask the deliverman, he is friendly and kind enough to tell me that i can always apply for waiving if i provide sufficient proof for the actual shipping fee payment to them by calling to clearance department

so if ur items before discount + shipping < rm500 then u can apply for it
its better to contact cdjapan about the missing carriage value field as they tell me no ppl told them this case before zzz
(maybe other countries are subjected to tax no matter how much the parcel value is, i asked amazon the same thing and they oso feels like its a fresh case)
really dono whose responsibility to fill in the carriage value field rclxub.gif
