I would prefer Japanese in the 1st place.
Maintenance and parts had not big issue.
Even half cut still have a lot can be find.

Euro car no confident, the RV quote lower than Japanese car.
From now can see on Korean car selling price can be easily higher than Japan car.
Korean/Euro car no RV after 10 yrs in used condition.
China car still not much in m'sia market yet.

Assuming same price range, local car.

Only Proton Inspira is worth it in the local car range. Preve, just average. Others are shite.

Assuming Proton Inspira 2.0 at RM90k++, there is no Japanese sedan that can offer the similar features and driving dynamics as the Inspira. To get an almost same level of performance one has to pay RM120k+ for an equivalent Japanese sedan ie. the Civic 2.0.

For me I would said thanks to proton badge from lancer to inspira.

The only Mitsubishi can't accept inspira service from thier SC.

Unless is buy the parts from outside spare parts shop and service outside workshop.

From what I knew the proton SC is suck! Worst than Perodua SC.
