Was late to the Xperia Z party so i didnt get it just because my truthful Xperia Ray still works...

and LOL at the pocket test. if Asus Fonepad can fit my side pocket easily, then this is a no brainer but i'll worry if it will break due to it's thinnest

i tried to understand more about triluminos so do a little research bout it. so what i understand so far was that this triluminos is a technology that enables LCD TFT displays to show a wider range of colors, and thus to display images that are richer and more vivid.

So i was wondering since triluminos is a technology and the screen use it still a lcd tft, which is the same as in xperia z, is it possible that this technology can be put into xperia z via firmware update? The TFT displays on the Xperia Z, ZL, and other older devices from Sony have been criticized for their washed out colors and poor viewing angle. see the comparison photo below,



and another thing, the x-reality engine, is an image processing technology that enhances the images and videos displayed on the Xperia Z Ultra. It makes pictures look sharper, reduces noise, improves contrast, and fine tunes saturation.. those who already try the honami mod, and installed the x-reality engine, did u c any significant improvement over the current BraviaEngine2?

Yup..Sony is weird. In the latest JB update for Xperia S, Extended Standby Mode was included instead of stamina mode. This Extended Standby mode was given to the Xperia P (2012 midrange) in their ICS update whereby Xperia S (flagship 2012) did not get it then, and only received it in the latest JB update. Now in JB, Whenever, the battery is low, it will prompt with a message to activate Stamina mode, BUT, stamina mode is nowhere to be found

No Bravia 2 as well.   When it comes to Sony's firmware update, can rant on forever. lol.

Why would Sony feel threatened by a mod on XDA? Was any specific reason posted? I speculate it has something to do with "proprietary IP" but I would like to be enlightened.

screen protector is kind of useless in my opinion(plastic is soft), the hardness for normal glass is around 6~7 on the mohs scale, while for metals like iron or steel are below 5, so metal cannot scratch normal glass, let alone processed glass like gorilla glass (unless it's hit really hard)

^ now that's nreprocessing .that these phones  a dedicated Walkman chip before, what i know last time during SE days they're walkman phone or cybershot phone. i once owned the classic K-750i cybershot phone 

now where can i read all the in-depth spec just to educate myself for both Z Ultra & Honami?

if this is real then really nothing so special about this honami. except for the new screen, which is consider new technology, the rest of it are really just a spec bump up from XZ.

what happen to 1 sony? which should incorporate cybershot camera?

for me, i think the camera is sufficient for a phone....if i need a high end camera better buy real thing instead.
but after seeing the latest photo leaks i feel that this Honami is much bigger & uglier than XZ 

and no walkman chip?

so much for a 'jack of all trades' phone...but master of none.

dont mind to wait for next year, hopefully there's a successor for Ray...
