Firstly remember the bestwide guy's post in this thread....regarding the cons....Everyone of it is true.
Secondly if you are in Wheatstone project you will be doing it until the second train sails away, contractually you cant be part of two project at the same time hence if you're in the construction team you are stuck in this project for a very long time.....but if you're in engineering I think you will leave the project earlier once engineering support is done.
Remember as a fresh grad never reveal any info to your client without written approval from your direct boss. Better yet just ask the client straight go see your boss......this project dont pandai pandai it might come back to bite you.
+ Prepare for headache in getting information or anything done (more than normal)-----well this is typical kencana anyway.
+ Procedures are most of the time for show case (well unless something happens then everyone refers to it

)
Most of this is public knowledge anyway.
By the way wheatstone ISBL is 45 modules as the tendering doc goes....kencana has subbed half of the modules to a chinese company. Kencana is doing all the big ones....you can see just across the project office.
But if you ask me if the experience is worth it or not......that depends on what position you are offered as the experience alone covers all the cons.
wow... thanks for your advice... it helps me to get mentally prepared.
Ya. I will involve in the wheatstone project as stated in my agreement.
But I have learnt that Kencana is a good place as stepping stone for fresh grads in O&G industry. Is it wrong?
Btw, my hometown is in selangor. my plan is to gain my working experience from there for 3-5years and returned to selangor. Hopefully I am able to survive for these period.
My future supervisor who interviewed me, did ask my ability in mandarin speaking, reading and writing as i will deal with client from china kinda thing.
And he asked my ability to work under critical working environment, as my job would be mostly outdoor and on certain height location. seems tough...
