QUOTE(kalkulator85 @ Jul 18 2013, 11:08 PM) yup..just wondering about the company working culture and the career prospect in the company..if i'm not mistaken the position is quite similar to oil-phase engineer in SLB Not sure if compared to SLB. SGS is a third party for SLB (or any service companies) on the sampling & analysis. You can refer to the job scope in the website, listed in details there. If you're a chemical background, it's pretty common to what we have learnt in uni. Culture and prospect wise, I can't give any comment as I never had any experience with them. It's a new department. Before this they combine lab/site team. For this position, mostly onsite analysis + a little lab work. Maybe other people here in this forum know better.. |

I took chemical-gas engineering. So, major chemical minor gas. That's how we say it, no? Doesn't really matters actually so far in my career.

And the smart card issue. The bosiet cert is with my previous company. So is it still okay to use it? I mean... The smart card was registered under that company. Wouldn't that be a problem?

Andddddd ... Those seeking for internship, Baker Hughes is looking for people. Got notification seconds ago. Nowadays internships bersepah. Even dalam jobstreet pun ada advertised. Compare dengan 2010 dulu sekarang lagi senang dapat placement kot.

QUOTE(orangminyak2013 @ Oct 24 2013, 03:58 PM) Of course many internships now so that those companies can save a lot of money paying those interns lowly while the interns do get high workload I won't complain about the workload if i were the student. People take u in is good enough already. QUOTE(orangminyak2013 @ Oct 24 2013, 04:01 PM) That one is application engineer. Equipment for which service line, not known. QUOTE(orangminyak2013 @ Oct 24 2013, 04:06 PM) If your next company is rich they can send u to new bosiet and offshore medical n u can keep the certs. As long your current bosiet date and medical date have not expired u can use the smart card under old company name I don't have my certs with me. So have to go bosiet lagi la? Of course my current company now can pay but if I left within 3 years, I have to pay them back for that. Trying to avoid that. |

QUOTE(meonkutu11 @ Oct 24 2013, 11:59 PM) I have some reading materials but somehow cannot attached it here. Some of it too large. Thanks!this is some basic info, http://www.rigzone.com/training/howitworks.asp QUOTE(echobrainproject @ Oct 25 2013, 12:25 PM) I didn't get it pun? :-/QUOTE(echobrainproject @ Oct 25 2013, 12:29 PM) if you are still holding your OSP card then it should be fine. Client can always check the status using just that. (referring to Petronas OSP). Alright. So no need to have my bosiet certs with me then. Is it legal? I mean, that card is supposed to read which company i come from, right? And switching company but using same smartcard under previous company..? Or smartcard just to verify bosiet n medical status? QUOTE(orangminyak2013 @ Oct 25 2013, 12:37 PM) just go to 4shared.com and type "drilling" Alright. Already planned meeting a friend who is a drilling engineer. Thanks!anyway you need to have a specific goal what you are trying to understand reading alone would not help you need physically see, observe, question and make mistake to understand what you reading. dont waste your time if you just reading aimlessly because you would not understand and would not remember after a week |

QUOTE(TrustMEiNoe @ Dec 21 2013, 06:12 AM) Many O&G company which hires fresh grads to work offshore will eventually find many new recruits resigning over the period of 2 years. During the exit interview, most of the time the reason will be to spend more time with Gf/Wife. Being single is really an advantage in an interview. They want committed people for most of the post I applied for. HeheNot that they are slave driven company but its just business. Most likely those who aren't single will be a bad investment. If they ask you during an interview, reply as the following: "Single, no commitment to personal relationships." "Yes sir don't worry I'm not married I don't have a boyfriend, I am so free, so ready to focus on this job. He he he heeeeee " |

QUOTE(shahnooon @ Jan 6 2014, 03:05 PM) hey guys, not sure if you guys are particularly curious in this area, but in terms of pre-employment medical check-up, has anyone have any idea which company do include blood test in the pre-employment package test ? ( to check for HIV, Hepatitis..etc ) So far with 4 companies, there are no blood test for pre employment medical checkup. Only urine test. Drug test analysis. Blood test only for bosiet. I'm not sure if some companies include blood tesr for pre employment too.and if the results come out positive, will the job offer be held back by HR ? I think this topic might not be interested by many but worth to discuss, especially for operating companies like Murphy, Shell, Hess, Esso....appreciate anyone from HR Recruitment(from these companies) to share their company policies.... |
