How is it working with SGS Oil,Gas & Chemical in Labuan? they invited me for an interview session next week.

Malaysia is a major Oil & Gas industry player and the associated companies, be it Operators, Service Providers, Fabricators are many. Please find a nice summary of the information of the main players in the link below. Intsok is a well known organization in Oil & Gas industry and PETRONAS has some sort of an annual meeting with this organization to discuss the state of the industry

btw about the smart card, yeah u can use em if your company let you keep it. smart card in a sense belongs to you, but some company request them returned since they paid for it.

Of course many internships now so that those companies can save a lot of money paying those interns lowly while the interns do get high workload

If your next company is rich they can send u to new bosiet and offshore medical n u can keep the certs. As long your current bosiet date and medical date have not expired u can use the smart card under old company name

if you are still holding your OSP card then it should be fine. Client can always check the status using just that. (referring to Petronas OSP).

anyway you need to have a specific goal what you are trying to understand
reading alone would not help
you need physically see, observe, question and make mistake to understand what you reading.
dont waste your time if you just reading aimlessly because you would not understand and would not remember after a week

Many O&G company which hires fresh grads to work offshore will eventually find many new recruits resigning over the period of 2 years. During the exit interview, most of the time the reason will be to spend more time with Gf/Wife.

Not that they are slave driven company but its just business. Most likely those who aren't single will be a bad investment.
If they ask you during an interview, reply as the following:
"Single, no commitment to personal relationships."

hey guys, not sure if you guys are particularly curious in this area, but in terms of pre-employment medical check-up, has anyone have any idea which company do include blood test in the pre-employment package test ? ( to check for HIV, Hepatitis..etc )

and if the results come out positive, will the job offer be held back by HR ? I think this topic might not be interested by many but worth to discuss, especially for operating companies like Murphy, Shell, Hess, Esso....appreciate anyone from HR Recruitment(from these companies) to share their company policies....
