Petrophysicist is one of the rare skills in PE so once you get your required experience level, you'd be in demand like hot cakes. Get as much experience as possible and learn from the seniors as much as you can.

good to know that thanks,
is a petrophysicist considered an engineer or a scientist?
does the early years of the job involve any field experience? will i get the chance to get significant offshore experience?

Err, I think you misunderstood me, I went to a US University and when we say major, it means that's the area you are studying for a degree. So if you have a degree in PE, then your major is PE, my Major or my degree was in Geology etc etc ....

i think arnd here major = specialization in ur final sem, correct me if im wrong biggrin.gif

like me, degree is PE, major (in final sem) u can choose to take RE or Drilling & Production.

its the same as other engineering degree and IT they have their respective area, at least in my uni.
