Malaysia’s Petronas has formally approached the market for up to five multi-year contracts tied to transportation and installation of pipelines and offshore platforms across the production sharing contracts in Malaysian waters. As with the previous tender in 2009, Petronas has split the projected work volume across as many as 11 production sharing contracts into five packages — A, B, C, D and E. The five packages on offer in the 2009 round were merged into four contracts awarded to two Malaysian players — three went to SapuraKencana and one to GOM Offshore — and expiring towards the end of 2013. Each of the five contracts on offer under the Pan Malaysia transportation and installation tender in 2013 is expected to run for three years from the end of the year, plus an option to extend for another year. Under the 2013 tender, packages A and B are only extended to Malaysian players, while international contractors have been called on to participate in the three other packages. TL Offshore is widely expected to put in bids for all five packages on offer from Petronas. The leading Malaysian offshore installation contractor will be joined by at least seven others — Sigurros, PBJV, Perisai Petroleum, Target Energy, GOM and Alam Maritim — possessing access to vessels matching the specifications outlined for packages A and B. The two packages call on the successful contractors to supply offshore construction vessels with between 250 and 800 tonnes of lifting capacities for mostly pipelay work in less than 100 metres of water, said sources. TL Offshore will face competition mainly from international contractors for the three other packages, C, D and E. Packages C and D are for pipelay and platform installation respectively and would require vessels with a lifiting capacity of up to 2000 tonnes. South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries, Japan’s Nippon Steel, and France’s Technip, as well as possibly Italy’s Saipem and McDermott of the US are deemed as potential bidders for packages C and D. McDermott, Saipem, TL Offshore and Singapore-based Swiber Offshore are among at least six international players with vessels capable of meeting the requirements of heavy-duty package E. Package E demands heavylift capacities of more than 2700 tonnes, said sources. Petronas is said to have cast a wide net, reaching out to contractors traditionally active in the Middle East and Europe, including National Petroleum Construction Company of Abu Dhabi, and Seaway Heavylift. Pre-qualification for the packages will start in about mid-July. Contracts tied to the five packages valued in excess of 3 billion ringgit ($953 million) will be awarded in late 2013.

QUOTE(abgkik @ Aug 25 2013, 03:29 PM) naik supply boat sudah.. when you have nice experiences on your resume.. your jump will become very2 worthy.. in my opinion, for person involve on project basis of work, it is good to stay until completion of project~ 2-3 years min.. but if it is gemusut-kakap project, berjanggut gak ahh.. My friend got married, when Gumusut is first cut steel at MMHE. Now he got 3 kids yet still no production. I believe Petronas will never ever built Semi FPS anymore in this region.

QUOTE(Stamp @ Aug 29 2013, 09:35 PM) I think Petronas wanted all major types of deep-water production facilities to be built/installed in Msia. Kikeh is a SPAR, Gumusut a Semi-FPS, Malikai will be a Tension-Leg Platform I heard. I wonder what's next? subsea only? Yes, I have the presentation stuff about it somewhere on 2005/2006. That is Tan Sri Hassan wawasan to be Petronas as Hub in Deepwater project..we have FPSO, Spar, FPS, TLP, and etc.The variety of offshore structure types in deep water makes Malaysia Petronas so unique.

QUOTE(azraeil @ Sep 7 2013, 04:23 PM) Shell Global Solutions I believe. Cost closed to USD200 million for FEED alone (giler babi kena tipu ngan Shell). When I was in PMU we basically forced Shell to bring the entire team to Miri (sebab nak setup Miri as a deepwater hub). Yes correct one of my friend went there at Houstan for FEED. It was wrong design by them after crosschecked by Technip Malaysia as Engineering Consultant. The topside weight was slightly different and therefore the delayed was affected the fabrication for hull at MMHE where they need to increase a little bit on the size due to impact of the topside weight.

QUOTE(camel_active @ Sep 10 2013, 09:28 AM) my friend has join this program. this program is held by government under [oh gosh.! i forgot the name.!] . u got allowance about rm500 permonth from goverment during the program & + extra rm500 from company u attach. but depends to ur luck.! my friend until now didnt get placement at o&g company. in their batch, from 21 participant, 5 didnt get placement, 7 got job with their effort [i mean they apply by themselves and pass the interview], 5 at biotech company, and the rest was place at o&g company. in my opinion, this program is failed & now they still want to continue it, for third batch. they cant really place u at o&g company, they just want to make u dreaming all the way. but, u can try ur luck there.! u never know ur future. The reality, this scheme only want budget from government.. once got the budget they have income and generate money. How about the course? it is meet the oil n gas qualification in the world or it is standard AWS, CSWIP, API, etc? some of the course sorry to say not even meet the standard...just simply talk as longas they have money really hate some of the company they take advantages since we have lot of people esp young engineer or beginners demand to join oil and gas and they conduct unnecessary training, seminar, course or anything else. Nowadays whoever want to join need to do some study about the course & training, not simply take it because not possible you might enter oil and gas field.

QUOTE(BaRT @ Sep 12 2013, 06:43 PM) ye mehh...pesal org ckp petrofac takde projek skang? talk cock je la kot org tuh...hehehe bro...currently im working with sapurakencana, planning to jump company next year due to some reason, but a lot people suggest me to stay (permanent position) due to unpredictable economy situation next year. What do you think bro? Sini bayar ciput.... Bart, better to stay with SK. U should know why, the are big EPCIC company know. They targeting all market in Malaysia. Furthermore they have IBD (International Business Dept) to look potential international projects. Sometimes we need to choose salary might be less, but long term career path is good. Or some of company will paid high, but the project only have 1 and 2. So you think and decide.

QUOTE(k.mark45 @ Oct 1 2013, 03:44 PM) my longest would be 45days. at day 30 feels like to jump into the sea nowadays young generation are very easy to get fed up with their own works...when their friends tell the HUC got a lof of money..enjoys life at offshore/site everybody wants to jump ship join HUC team...then meet another friend tell Engineering/Design working in air conditional with lucrative wages then everybody wants jump ship join Engineering/Design team.. for me, once you join oil n gas field, better to focus and develop more skills and knowledge so that you can have niche and Subject Matter Expert for the position but for those in offshore, it is different story and end of the day of course everybody would like to stay in onshore

QUOTE(New Klang @ Nov 13 2013, 02:06 PM) MMHE is Malaysia's top shipyard and it is alluded to be world class yard with experience in building world class structures like SSPC FPS Gumusut Kakap, SSPC TLP Malikai. It has a subsidary of MISC and Petronas. Salary is top of the range if you know how to negotiate. A lot of benefits and rewards if you know the way. Yes, I heard also they don't have much project after most of it have taken by TTHE or Sapukencang. Some rumors said might be thousand of employees will receive the VSS soon due to project not too much.
