The vet I go to is called PetCare at Taman Melawati.
Quite near to my place and the price is reasonable enough. I've made it Oren's official vet lah cuz nearby, easy and they have kept Oren's record since the first visit Yesterday kena RM36.50, 10 consultation, 20 for 2 injections and 6.50 for the pills for 3 days... I thot kena RM50 over... But the charges are quite okay The MediVet near my office, consultation aje dah RM30.00 KP |

I used to just bathe Oren with lotsa baby shampoo and really warm water... The flea will fall off, but very little, it will not remove them totally...
Then I used Frontline, one time treatment, everything gone already. I think no choice lah, for permanent result, have to use a something to treat it... Rather you spend a few bucks on a non-guaranteed result method, better spend RM36.00 on a bottle of Frontline that can last you for years (for one cat)... Even the medicated fleas collar will cost you RM20-22... Some shampoo will work if the flea is very little, but if dah banyak, it's still not a guarantee... A good flea shampoo will cost around RM15-19... Ohh, perhaps you can get a Frontline and share it with someone? Or check with the vet for a one time Frontline treatment, how much will it cost... KP |

RM36.00 is the smallest Frontline bottle dy.
Serenayap, normally cats will put up less fight if the water is warm. If it's just normal cold tap water, all cat will run havoc one KP |

Haha, dunno how to teach here exactly, but a lot of calm talking is a must too
(Oren's bathing story...) Normally, I prepared the warm water first, then pick him up into the bathroom, pour a little warm water first onto him to let him know that the water is not cold. All the while holding him firmly. Then quickly pour some shampoo and start massaging. Normally when massaging warm water and shampoo, it's very comforting for him and he will kindda relax a bit... After making sure the shampoo has reached all places, then rinse it with warm water again. Then I will wet my hand and wipe his face and clean his ears. When all is done, wrap him up in a clean towel, give him a good cuddle while drying him up KP This post has been edited by krynzpeaches: Dec 17 2007, 05:03 PM |

Frontline, get from any vet
Some pet shops won't have it, some will mark up the price. Vet is the safest, standard small bottle should be 36.00 or less if they are kind enough Read the label carefully and follow it step by step It's really concerntrated, sticky, but you can touch it and wash your hand immediately after using it. Leave it till dry. Bathe your cat only after 3 days of the treatment KP |

Morning! Just arrived back at 5 am this morning. Damn tired. Missed Oren... He's staying with my friend while I balik kampung. Picking him up tomorrow... QUOTE(caerulln @ Dec 21 2007, 04:24 PM) do u really prefer persians? I don't. 3 reasons 1) their flat face is ugly (in my opinion) 2) they shed their fur like nobody business 3) gotta groom them everyday or your house will look like barber shop. rm800 for a DLH? i assume the persian is sold at petshop (rule of thumb. do not EVER buy cats or dogs from ANY petshop. get from a breeder or SPCA/PAWS) & no certs. I won't pay rm800 for a DLH. persian look or not. rm500 would be more reasonable. I'll save up some more to adopt one from a proper breeder. Totally agree with your 3 reasons! I don't think pure persians can get below 1k actually. RM800 for a DLH is expensive. I think RM500 also depend on what gen of DLH is it... If like totally mix DLH, RM500 also not worth it... QUOTE(sogoatticus @ Dec 22 2007, 12:31 AM) anyway here is the RM800 cat..i fell in love with him..he so manja [attachmentid=364235][attachmentid=364238] Looks like normal DLH = Domestic Long Hair. My Oren has longish fur too, and he is FREE OF CHARGE! Hahaha QUOTE(sogoatticus @ Dec 22 2007, 09:22 AM) 1st)i havent got conned yet coz that pics is taken from the petshop..so i havnt bought it yet..lolx 2nd)thanks for the info..really answers my qtns..i guess the expensive part is the cage and food maintainence.. 3rd)so that cat is local breed?actually the fur longer than the pics..i dont know y its fur looked shorter ..later i come back and ask bout the DLH..hope the know what DLH means Thank god haven't bought yet... Ask around more. Yeah, a good maintenance for keeping a cat is quite costly, not only the cage, food, litter sands and such, but think of the necessary vet visits too. QUOTE(mlinda @ Dec 23 2007, 12:33 AM) Alaa... nothing laa.. tht kitten for my own. coz for now, i'd 1 long hair male kitten, so need another 1 female for his couple. perhaps they will mate someday and make a gorgeous generation cat also for my own... U ada ke? kalo ada just let me know ya... Do remember to breed only if you are able to keep them all or find good homes for them. We do not need any more extra cat population, there's just tooooo many already around. ----- Sighhh, the kittens back in my hometown is still nursing. Can't take the mother for spaying or the kittens back here for adoption yet. Will have to go back and settle it in a month or two later I just hope the mother won't be pregnant again by that time... Or else I need to fork up more money... Btw, all the 3 kitten are adorable orange in color with little stripes KP |

If you just got it and let it play around, ofcourse it will run away or get stolen. You need to train it first, let it familiar with you, your family, your house, then slowly monitor it's movement if outdoors... If you sayang your duit, you will jaga your pet properly lor. ----- Picked up Oren yesterday. He has gained weight and obtained a new hobby - sleeping... Oren is a male, so confirm not pregnant
His belly is fat and has jiggly part summore, that's why look like that... Eat, sleep, golek2, eat, sleep, golek2 and that is what you get KP Added on December 26, 2007, 2:20 pmOhh, to me, toilet train is easy... Just keep the cat confined with the litter tray where you want it to do their biz for about a week or so... Either in a cage or room or toilet... After that they will know where to do their biz... But you must keep the litter tray at that original place all the time, if you move it, you need to repeat the same procedure again cuz some cats won't know where to find it, while some others can. XD Haha, thanks! Some cats will know where to do their biz even if the tray is moved, some don't. Best is to let them have one specific and same place. QUOTE(heidityj @ Dec 26 2007, 07:07 PM) Thanks! QUOTE(sogoatticus @ Dec 27 2007, 12:18 AM) where u usually put the litter tray?inside the cage or in ur toilet or both? and how often u change the litter sand?once they shit u throw away or wait till the shit full? I started with putting the litter tray in the cage because I caged my cat with the tray for about a week outside on my veranda. After I let him out and he knows to go back to the cage to the the biz, I remove the cage but leave the tray at the same spot as where it was before in the cage. I don't totally change the sand unless it is soaking wet. What I do is I top up some if the sand seems little after removing the poop. Poops should be removed daily. Never wait until it is full to remove it. It will be extremely smelly and dirty and poses health risk too. QUOTE(a13solut3 @ Dec 27 2007, 08:53 AM) If you don't mind male or female, rape lar... KP |

QUOTE(sogoatticus @ Dec 27 2007, 03:03 PM) wah ur cat seems very tame..should i get a female or male better?or both shouldnt be a problem?plan to get the pet quality at melaka Surprisingly he is... Both male and female make great pets. Each will have their own unique character. It's up to the owner also on how they shape their pets behaviour. Take into consideration to neuter/spay your cat too. Some common things if you don't have them neutered/spayed : - For females, once mature they can run away when on heat and also easily get pregnant and fill you house with tonnes and tonnes of kittens. - For males, when mature they will start pissing wherever they like. Neutering/Spaying will help curb these problems plus encourages a better health for your cat KP This post has been edited by krynzpeaches: Dec 27 2007, 03:33 PM |
