What is Project : Air ?

It's gonna be a tj08-e build.

I rarely see any tj08-e worklog. Big fan of MetallicAcid's tj-08.

Mine is going to be simple and I'm gonna pay more attention on small details.

I'm going to use black and red theme believe it or not.

What is the inspiration ?

Never owned a ROG Board, so why not?

I'm gonna use black as my main color.

With a few red highlights like my fan's led and board's led.

Why ?

I'm moving to England to study.

I need a fully working hardcore pc.

I mean I love my Package build but it's in Malaysia.

Since I have a titan just collecting dust so why not create a air-cooling build.

So since I'm travelling, I picked a small form factor again.

I normally hate small form factor cases but I hope I can do it justice.

What to expect ?

Things to expect in this build is that this build is going to be around 1 to 2 months.

I have most of parts here.

You will expect disaster, a little bit modding.

Some types of rant.

You will expecting a very clean build.

Meaning no airbrush or any airbrushing details.

Only spraypaint will come close to this.

A very special window I have planned.

Aircooling

Motherboard first. I love the gene because of the amount of power it packs in such a small form factor.

Plus I love the supremefx led so I have to have it.

So much delay but it's finally here.

I also love the accessories especially the doorknob message thingy.

Enjoy the pictures.

Processor is here and the box looks so ugly.
But onto the processor. Feel the same and look the same so yeah.
Enjoy the pictures. Can't get the small words in the processor because of lighting issue.

The aircooler I chose is the silverarrow (non-extreme).
I love the heatsink design and to anyone who wants to know, it didn't block the ram dimms in pull.
I replaced the stock fan with enermax red led fan.
And picture of my corsair platinum 1866ghz (there will be mod on this).
Enjoy the pictures.

Ok, time to do some modding / designing.
First picture would be the original ram with the sticker taken off.
I then took off the top heatsink, it's easy to remove with a small allen key.
After that, I took the heatsink and painted it black.
After that, I took some scotchbrite 3m pad to sand it to give it a paint tearing like look.
It looks what I wanted. So I put it back and install it back.
Enjoy the pictures.

Ok time for some modding.
I love clean build. I really do.
So I notice the bottom is very messy.
And the psu placement has the silverstone logo.
I don't like it, let's do something about it.

It's all black. Enjoy.
I didn't put pic for psu because it's gonna get covered.
If you're curious, is AX860.
Here's a quick sleeving shot.
Next update is the installation of the motherboard to the case.
Enjoy the pic.

Ok, titan update.
I hated the green led.
It doesn't match my build theme so why not just paint it red.
Ok the bad news that I have is that I broke the cover of the side.
If you can see closely, you would notice it have broken off and left like half of it.
I don't mind because it's gonna be a dark red build so you can barely see it at the end of the build.
And if you see the second picture, you can see that some paint marks on the left.
Note to self, never touch paint and be patient when drying.
So, I decided to use a scotchbrite 3m pad to scuff up the surface to give a brush aluminium look.
To me, it looks beautiful and I frosted the acrylic.
At the end, I'm quite satisfy with the result.
Next update would be the window.
Enjoy the pictures now.
And YES, It still works.
Last picture shows it running.

Just a mini update.
IT IS MADE OUT OF BRASS.
Though abit offtopic,
It's gonna be use to measure my case.
I'm gonna use it in something you would not expect.
Signed by the one and only Bill Owen.
Thanks Bill if you are reading it.
This ruler is one of two Bill has ever build. (he claims)
Stay tune and enjoy the pictures.

For the project, I'm gonna be on a stand still because I'm throwing away my tj08e
I'm currently very pissed off because I can't install back my side panel because of my acrylic window.

I'm currently aiming for corsair 350D.
Stay tune.

Throwing away tj08e? Donate or sell cheap2 to me tongue.gif

Throwing away because I can't fit the acrylic window that I glue down.
Would love to donate but no side panels so to me, it's gonna be scrap metal.

Well, I have bad news and good news.
First is that I broke my tj08e case
You will be like "Jake, how you broke your case?"
I will be like "I cut a window that is near the edge where the support of case is blocking the acrylic.
So I can't fit it.
So I change case.
But surprisingly, it's always Corsair who comes and saves the day.
Not a big fan of Corsair but I always need to rely on them for fast replacements.
Not gonna mod it because I'm tired and I'm just not in the mood.
Enjoy the teaser.
Guess the Case if you want.
Next update will be the final pictures.

OK, time to end this project.
It's been hell of a bumpy ride and let's end it here.
First of all, it's a 350D.
What a expected surprise.
I finally got all working and I'm currently using it right now to type this final update (hopefully).
Unfortunately, I can't show you the cable management and I hid the SSD at the back.
Anyway, I want to thank everybody who supported me through the build and I wish I can do more.
Sad news is that I'm putting my amateur modding abilities to a rest as I will be focusing on studying overseas.
Hence why I built this system anyway, without further ado.
Enjoy the pictures.
