QUOTE(namrod @ May 12 2014, 11:37 PM) I noticed that there are red lines at 30kph and 50kph at the speedometer respectively. May I know what this represents for? Quoted from other forum: In Europe, 50km/h (town) and 30km/h (neighbourhood/school zone) speed limits are very strictly enforced, hence the red markings on the speedometer to remind drivers.![]() |

QUOTE(skyfire @ May 19 2014, 09:11 AM) CBU is fully imported and you will see PUSPAKOM logo at your windows (R&R of all imported cars require to go through PUSPAKOM checking before on the road), while CKD is local assemble. The latest Cerato will have 3 minor changes which are: My understanding is only the very first batch of cerato is having the signal stalk on the right. I'm not sure are those limited unit CBU or SKD but I did realized that most of the cerato are having the signal stalk on the left even for SKD unit..1.) Multimedia Din - from 4.3 inch to 7 inch (i think 8 inch need additional top up? Correct me if i'm wrong) equip with GPS. 2.) K3 logo at the back of the car (while you can always get this stick from any car accessories shops) 3.) Tyre changed to Continental Most significantly, CBU signal indicator control is on driver's right side, while CKD will have it on the left side. This all i can tell so far, anything wrong about it, please correct. For the HU, all CKD are 8" with GPS ready. |

QUOTE(Iveco @ May 27 2014, 01:48 PM) Anyone has made comparison between K3 and Mazda3? Am contemplating between these 2 models. What are the specs available in Mazda3 but not found in K3, anybody knows? I find K3 is good value for money but not sure on its reliability compared to Japanese. Tough decision to make, would appreciate any thoughts and opinions. The Mazda 3 and Kia K3 was shortlisted to my final 2, I personally preferred Mazda 3 due to it design, performance, handling and technologies. However, I drove a Cerato home eventually. There are many reasons why I choose Cerato over K3, the most important reason is none other than the pricing. Mazda 3 does come with superb handling plus advanced technologies that you can't get from any of his competitor like SkyActive package, stop/start function and iEloop, you also got a FREE upgrade to leather seat which doesn't come with the car originally. What makes this good car became not competitive is Bermaz, with the price you paid you still have to adjust your seat manually, turn on the lights when it is dark, switch your rear view mirror to night mode when some Lala is driving behind you with their super bright HID, no reverse camera, single zone air-cond, no cruise control, no active display and etc.. and this cost you RM139K with only 3 years warranty. Just top up 2k and you can drive a Honda Accord home. While for Cerato 2.0, most of the features are ready with no extra cost. No doubt that the handling is just so so but at least the car is comfortable. My wife preferred Cerato more than Mazda 3 because of it spacious cabin, rear air-cond vent, electric driver seat with memory function, dual zone air-cond and most importantly- the ventilated seat. All these fancy features only cost you RM 119k (of cuz you can get it cheaper) and the happiness from your family members is priceless. In terms of reliability, I hope it is just as good as the Japanese. I have the same concern as you before I go for Korean car, but after much survey with Forte and Elantra owner I believe that the reliability of the Korean car has improved tremendously and those owner that I knew are very happy with their Korean wheel The above is just my 2 cents advise, go test drive the car with your dearest 1 and go for the car that bring you more happiness |

QUOTE(cruel_boy @ May 28 2014, 07:35 PM) Planning to buy 1.6... Should I wait till raya period for promo? First time buyer. Initially wanted to buy hilux, but settled for family car Since it is coming to June, I will choose to wait for Raya but no guarantee for better discount but I heard rumour claimed that the interest rate is going to hike again soon, so you might need to put this under consideration as well |

QUOTE(Aurora @ Jul 6 2014, 07:58 PM) Went test drive Cerato and K5 just now. Notice that the air-con for Cerato is quite weak, doesn't cold as fast as K5. Even after 5 minutes the air in the car still isn't really cold. How is your car? Btw, the test drive car is black colour. I think my K3 aircond is not too bad.. Temp set around 21-23 depending on the weather. Never go below 21 Celsius cuz it is too cold for me.. But of cuz, it depends on individual.. |

QUOTE(emonemo @ Jul 15 2014, 10:24 PM) Greetings Cerato owners! Hi, I'm a cerato 2.0 owner for 2 months.I am not one of your kind, but am seriously considering buying a Cerato K3 1.6 in the near future. I'm sure people here could go on and on about the benefits of owning a Cerato (it is the owners club after all). However, as a potential buyer naturally I'm most concerned with its weaknesses Areas I'm particularly concerned with are - fuel consumption - reliability - after sales service - cost of servicing and spare parts - back seat suspension and comfort of ride (my not-so-young parents will be sitting at the back) but do highlight any other Cerato/Kia/Naza-specific problem areas too. All comments are most appreciated Cheers! - fuel consumption 1 litter of petrol can go around 10-15km, depending on your foot n road condition. This is not the best fuel saving car for city but it does well in highway - reliability Too early to juge, hope it can be as reliable as it is now - after sales service No comments yet, as usual u will hear a lot of mixed comment about the after sales service.. - cost of servicing and spare parts My car comes with 3 years free service. But the spare part is not that cheap as I can see. - back seat suspension and comfort of ride (my not-so-young parents will be sitting at the back) This car is famous with the rear floating issue. I have installed the r Bach spring buffer but it only help to improved the ride stiffen the suspension. So in stead of floating, u can feel it is less bouncy on uneven road. However, if this issue can be resolve (or if u can accept it) then cerato is definitely a quite comfortable car with it big cabin n rear aircond vent. After all it all depends on which car u r comparing with. If u are comparing with B segment, it lose with it fuel consumption n win with better n more solid ride. If u are comparing with Elantra, both are basically the same car under the hood. Hope u can find ur right car soon. This post has been edited by happiesdog: Jul 16 2014, 12:43 AM |
