Currently I'm paying ~rm130 each month to Astro, but it is mainly for my mother who likes to watch the Dynasty package for the chinese programs. feel like a waste la, if can cut it can save ~1,500 a year. got any idea that i can cut astro but still let my mother watch those TVB and oldies programs?

Yeah, I will buy MK808 and try out first, if successful, will persuade all my friends to stop asstro.
 anyway, anybody knows any reliable seller for MK808 or not? or got any other better solutions? |

i am also reading the following 2 threads:

I read that "Once Astro completed the free Beyond decoder/smart card replacement, that's the end of it unless someone can decode the new Beyond smart card which is locked to one decoder only." -- and this might happen at early 2014 - can anyone confirm it?  huhu..... please help me to make a choice......  |

 hi all, it is interesting to see all these different solutions coming out these days for us to dump asstro - and i repeat: I HATE asstro with a passion!!!  so far I have shortlisted the following devices based on my reading so far. I wish sifus here can help me to pick one and that's it. My priorities: a) Must be able to watch HK and China channels like TVB (for my old mother's sake) b) Must have an easy to use remote control. for me an air mouse etc. is absolutely no problem, but for my old uneducated mother it could be an issue. i have bought an Android box HiMedia Q5II - not bad a thing. out of all the apps, XBMC is the best, as most of the western movies and tv series can be played quite smoothly most of the time, i have tried watch some 007 movies on it already - no problem at all.
However, when come to Chinese programs, the results are mixed. 风云直播 & AzDrama: most of the time those HK stations (real time) lagged or can't play at all. May I know if anyone also facing the same thing? or is there any settings that i should tweak? |
