No, when you pre-order you will get a pre-order code, this pre-order code you register to your active FFXIV service account. What it gives u is 7 days early access, Moogle Hat & Caith Sith minion Pet. 7 days early access means you get to play 7 day earlier than launch date (launch is 27th august, early access play on the 20th August). And yes the 30 day free will start on 27 August.
