QUOTE(d33pbluez @ Jun 20 2013, 09:44 AM) Part 2 of review on the tempered glass screen protector So last night, come back eagerly having my old screen protector remove and install the tempered glass screen protector... Looks of the new touch screen: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The tempered glass screen protector look tight as it was only made to protect mostly on the screen and the soft key button. I mean very close to the edge of the screen Corner after assemble: After assemble i had try out the smoothness and found it quiet good plus is like having another layer of glass on top of your touch screen ... it feel good Now the problem start to occur if you notice along the edge of the screen. You will find the the tempered glass screen protector doesn't sit much nicely there because the nature on note 2 phone tend to curve on the edge while tempered glass screen protector cant curve and bend like plastic screen protector do. There will be leak along the edge with bubble. not sure if it will go away for next 2 -3 days have to wait and see. Bubble along the edge: [Top] [Bottom] [Bottom Edge Close up] P/S: Side note though after review written... Maybe my Kung-Fu not that good install the screen protector bro..any tips and tricks u could pass down to me? this would be my first time applying sp myself..sure got see bubbles everywhere..tho they did recommend to long press the apparent bubble and sorta massage it out..within 36hours..the airpockets should settle down..and hows the oleo coating? noticeable difference? is it more of a tvshow CSI or on the field CSI?

QUOTE(d33pbluez @ Jun 20 2013, 02:58 PM) The method used is about the sample apply to plastic screen protector. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Always find a flat surface and clean spot away from fan or window...and have enough light source to spot out the dust. When apply screen protector lay you phone down, don't hold them and never used your breath to blow the dust you might not know the saliva will stay on the screen. instead used tape or lint free cloth to take out the dust... Make your screen protector lay down down once your confidence with the alignment. Best is only 1 times, adjust you may but try to minimize that. Always kept your finger nail clean or just tools to ply the edge for adjustment else you would had debris under your finder nail stick to screen protector.. There is not much different the screen, you still get finger print smudge if you hand is greasy enough...Just that makes you feel safe with extra glass protection... My parcel has arrive! Hoyeah..agree with ur flumsy packaging comment but i guess its fit the purpose to avert those prying eyes.. i didnt get any bubblegums tho! They must have deem me not worthy.. This and my uag casing..feels like i have so much win..now to watch out for those darn muggles or in malay..toyol

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jun 20 2013, 11:13 PM) Muggles are people who are not born in a non-magic family. Sounds like Harry Potter. Lolol. Toyol are imps but some call them goblins but toyol seems to be smaller than goblins. Oh well. Haha..pardon me..juz throwing it out randomly..the usage of muggles in the net can be associated with malay perception of a toyol is what i thought..

QUOTE(d33pbluez @ Jun 21 2013, 08:05 AM) Congrats, funny that they don't offer sweets. Probably they had miss out during when packing. Anyway you wont want to have those sweet in your mouth, It damm sweet and like take 3-4 table spoon of sugar in your mouth ..can kena kencing manis very fast and make my throat feel sour... Anyway how the assemble of your screen goes ? Similar air pocket issue ? Thanks for the pin. I'm working with MIME to check out the air pocket in the screen with some question. Probably will add in when i had some answer. Haven't manage to put it on yesterday..had headache due to heavy codin crackalackin..bout to do it now..wish me luck! geronimo!

QUOTE(d33pbluez @ Jun 21 2013, 08:24 AM) Haha... Remember to let us know the outcome.... I don't have an extra handset nor a camera with me now..but i think i did a good job for a first timer..no bubble is visible where it matters except some minimal ones at the bottom and right side edges..manage to minimize by outwardly massaging it using the supplied squeege..one shall not see it if one does not squint one eyes.. the end result does please me as it looks pretty awesome being layered by glass and all..minus the edges it looks like there is nothing being put on the screen..clear as the sky.. and the oleophobic coating..does it job well enough..in a normal condition no fingerprints is visible when tested..but with very sweaty thumb..there are some smudges visible albeit much better than my previous plastic s.p which is solely for clarity purposes only..no oleophobic whatsoever..so no comparison can be made with other oleophobic product.. I will give it 4/5 just because I noticed there could be a lot of things that could go wrong during installation since the width of the s.p is made precisely to the width of the screen allowing minimal adjustment should the installer have unsteady hands..then again if someone like me can apply it justifiably so..without any usage of sorcery..I guess anyone could have done it.. bundled together with my aluminum silver button to compliment the UAG signature at the back of my casing..I can now safely act like a bawse..

QUOTE(d33pbluez @ Jun 21 2013, 10:30 AM) Nop, The leak probably from the lifting edge. i had try out the some experiment with water and force and below symptom seem legit as what MIME claim. 1. Water was able to sip into the edge of the tempered glass screen protector. 2. Rub and hold one side of the edge, Notice another edge somehow lifted more. (How can i miss that) don't know how try that with water but point 2 doesn't happen to me..guess I'm good to go.. QUOTE(PeeEl @ Jun 21 2013, 10:35 AM) Isn't that unacceptable? I would put that down as either a defective product or design fault since it isn't able to completely do what it is supposed to. Game on trying to make a claim? I would be. Who knows? You just might get a replacement set sent to you. they are sending a replacement unit to him tonight (their morning)..good customer service eyh..if notice the email replied was within a day..

QUOTE(syNzoR @ Jun 21 2013, 06:12 PM) Its normal to have the air bubbles at the sides because note 2 screen is not flat, that is why SGP didnt want to make for note 2. If you not satisfied with how you stick the protector, you can use hot water and steam to reapply it. and you can use a suction cup when u apply to adjust the position for precise. After few months of using glass protectors purchased from taobao, it seem that it is not as scratch proof as they claimed. However, even with many scratches, it still looks good. A friend of mine dropped his phone and the glass protector was shattered, but stayed in 1 piece like car window. His phone was not damaged. I also face an issue that glass protectors tend to absorb heat, making the screen very hot to touch when heavy usage. But overall Glass protectors have better and smoother feel and it is better in finger print resistance, and the thickness doesnt really make a difference edit: i think i quoted the wrong person... d33pbluezI can vouch for the smoother feel..and its easier now for me to open my pie shortcuts..not sure if it's placebo effect but it feels smoother to the touch and the clarity is much better than my previous plastic s.p..btw how to reapply using hot water? i doubt pouring it directly will do the phone any good..

QUOTE(hooh888 @ Jun 21 2013, 03:41 PM) i don't know if it's the same for aosp roms. and i don't use xposed or simplistic, i use the old school decompile, edit required file then recompile and place it back in the phone. you may refer here to see what you need to modify. SOS..i tried the steps found here on how to decompile and recompile..manage to change and recompile but when try to sign the apk..there isn't any signed apk showing in the folder..compared to what is being posted..I have this additional line in my command line.. Usage: signapk publickey.x509[.pem] privatekey.pk8 input.jar output.jar and following the comments..instead of signing..they suggest to copy pasting the meta-inf, manifest and classes.dex from original SystemUi to modified SystemUi which I cant find the meta-inf in the original SystemUi.apk..so how did you go about it? or did you just directly bypass the sign-apk steps? any probs so far? edit: nvm..I relocate the signapk folder for easy access and now it works..still..wonder if you did bypass the apk signing tho This post has been edited by muctabucta: Jun 23 2013, 01:32 PM

QUOTE(antt00 @ Jun 24 2013, 10:14 AM) Notification pull down picture is just a png. Depending on you are using simplistic or 23 toggle or normal etc you just have to find the png and replace it. But i remember there were some issue with changing the background for simplistic. No mods for xposed?..not using simplistic..n tried googling it yesterday..either the keyword is off or i was too sleepy to notice.. OT..i wish someone had Datuk Kame's fan and wipe away all this haze..

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Jun 24 2013, 06:57 PM) I am not speaking for myself but those who are looking forward to the Note3. Such a slight size increment notwithstanding the specs will disappoint many especially when the trend for phablets nowadays is 6 inch and above. speaking of which..when I went to Korea earlier this year..I noticed note 2 was among the smallest device they use particularly amongst the youngsters and commuters riding the subway..not sure a mere 0.2inches gonna make a difference..hardware specs aside..
