words of wisdom: Make sure to backup ur original SystemUi.apk just in case shits go down the drain..

what u need:
1. apktool
2. 7zip
3. notepad++
4. root browser (es file manager although I can't seem to paste the modded systemui.apk into the system/app using this..ended using ROM Toolbox pro for this)

what u need to do (windows):
1. install apktool -> press shit+right click on installed folder and choose open command line here
2. pull framework-res.apk (system/framework) and SystemUi.apk (system/app) -> put into apktool folder
3. installed framework-res.apk and SystemUi.apk using the command line





4. decompile systemui:



5. find SystemUi folder in apktool folder
6. go to res/layout folder > tw_status_bar_expanded.xml > right click >open with notepad++ > find android:background="@drawable/notification_panel_bg".
7. change that notification_panel_bg with any name. example android:background="@drawable/mybackground".
8. save the xml.
9. then, go to res/drawable-hdpi folder.
10. place your image named "mybackground". Make sure u resize the intended image.png to 482x802 (use ms paint)
11. recompile the apk.



12. apktool will create new folder named "build" --> open the build/apk/ --> copy and replace the original META-INF folder and AndroidManifest.xml into it. (use 7zip to get into the ohliginal SystemUi.apk and pull it from there)
- recompile again by using command :



13. find the modded SystemUi.apk in the SystemUi folder under dist folder (..apktool/SystemUi/dist/SystemUi.apk) --> push it to your sdcard

14. Open root browser (i use romtoolbox pro) ->find the modded SystemUi.apk-->set permission to rw-r-r
15. push to the system/app via copy pasting
16. restarto
17. do the wave!

I have tried not signing and not pasting the META.inf and android manifest file..although no bootloop..my systemui revert to original rom..so....

I believe this should be newb friendly..so for those who are interested can try..if any lacking was found..can find the guide I followed here

real programmer dont use simplistic nor xposed..dats how we roll..lol..

in any case its a good knowledge investment..hooh888 can cook better rom with this knowledge..

hotspot is a shortcut where u touch a contrained real estate in your mobile screen to launch an app..concept like u touch an app picture and it launches it..differ in the sense that u can set it anywhere on the homescreen..any size u want..any location u want..

in truth..to get the full effect of wowser is to transparent the toggle background and the notti bar together with the .png file..yesterday was too sleepy to do it..but need to change 8 line of value in systemui.apk..but that is another story..

I believe if the res is 720x1280..u will get a smaller/sharper image instead of like mine which seems bit large..in theory that is..

I am truly intrigued by your sig..are you a naval officer? do u work in a submarine? if yes hows life inside a submarine? do you guys get seasick too?..my previous job requires me to get on a boat for hours which I ended getting seasick for two days straight..not gonna book a ticket to a boat ride anytime soon..

wud be nice if we cud have an app for that..say if one want to ask how the best way to root..app wud launch the best hit for his/her particular phone and build..innit? because typing words into google search bar is such a hassle..

I believe you did not understand the concept of battery savings..that is why there seems to be confusion here..what alexng2208 has been trying to tell u is that there are 3 ways to save a battery:

1. via Radio control:
which is using apps to control your data usage because battery is drain faster if mobile and wifi remained on standby even when u are not using it (screen is off). These apps (battery save etc) turns the radio off automatically when it detect your screen is off and turns it back on when it detects you have turned ur screen back on.

2. via Processing power control:
which is achieve through UV (UnderVoltage) etc. As the name suggest, it limits the power usage of the processor. Its a try and error approach and it may cause your system to lag or worst not start at all due to insufficient power supply. However with enough guidance by fellow kungfu master here, a safe parameter can be adopted.

3. via Custom ROM:
by removing the bloated TW apps that frankly you might not be using but keeps on putting your phone on standby due to its processing requirement. (Gtalk etc)

to avoid any further confusion..please read the first page of this forum to be clearer..your phone is as smart as you are..it cud be smarter..but it depends on u..
