Thanks. I have used DroidVPN as well. Looks like that's a better choice. biggrin.gif

For VPN, if you dont mind to pay some penny tongue.gif, ya may consider FinchVPN. There's a paid and free version, the diff for this two is,

Free = Only able to connect to free server, 3GB data quota with a 60mins time frame, Aka you will got disconnected every 60mins.

Paid = Have a list of premium server to select, and there's no time limit and unlimited data.

On a site notes, premium version only charge RM10 / month. laugh.gif Been with this service for 2 month, so far is good for me. icon_rolleyes.gif

FinchVPN is considered cheap. Used to pay more than that for VPN.
However these days is no longer needed until I will need to travel to the land of restriction. sweat.gif
Zhong Hua Dian Xun is a telco there right?
I believe it will block FB?
Heard of that as well. smile.gif
Never tried yet, shall check it out.
*
If it's not a primary usage, then can still stick to their free service. Just a bit hassle which every 60mins need to reconnect for once but I don't think that gonna be a problem. laugh.gif

Anyone using SetCPU here? Seems like the dev official website hasn't update for quite sometime for the version and FAQ. sweat.gif

Alright, here's the question anyone on stock kernel but using SetCPU? Some ppl @ XDA said there's no point to use SetCPU if one is running on stock. And some said, its working like charm. I was like rclxub.gif when read all the info and feedback there.

Boleh tunjuk ajar sikit sifu sifu here? laugh.gif

senang boss
first: what do you want  to achieve
1. you have setcpu = you have rooted
2. flash custom kernel
3. tweak till you drop with the free stweaks  whistling.gif
*
Yes boss. Flashed stock pre root rom.
wanna achieve battery life tahap maksima with stock rom. laugh.gif

QUOTE(joytest @ Jun 27 2013, 11:00 AM)
SetCPU is usually used for OVERclocking. With Stock Kernel, you can only UNDERclock.
*
Yea. Not intended to OC as I'm cool with the stock speed & performance.

I would to have my N2 lower down its clock when screen off, sleep, charging.

Speed step up when screen on, playing games, or reading.

with everything done under 1600mhz. laugh.gif

so difficult geh

anyways

1. flash a custom Kernel
2. set governer to ondemand  rclxms.gif
3. i would max out proc at 1,200
4. UV all by 1 step
5. greenify everything
6. DSBATTERY SAVER everyhing at max settings

nah... battery life tahap gaban on heat notworthy.gif but still steady and partially unusable (because you might have some friends that whatsapp you)
*
I do see ondemand, userspace, powersave, pegasusq, performance under stock kernel tho.

Those are just for this display one kah? Just really can work punya? laugh.gif

don't SS lar... stock kernel can't do those. u need devil kernel which i'm using (shameless plug)
*
That is why I'm asking lo. I bought my copy of SetCPU last night via playstore. Installed and have quick glance by taping here and there without apply. Those are the setting appeared and I seen. sweat.gif Or otherwise I won't as the stupid question whether it is works or not.

So meaning that those CPU governor that I seen in the SetCPU under my N2 now are just meant for display and unable to be enable one lo?

i also dunno boss

just try to play around with it lar. i'm inexperienced with setcpu. if you say amoi maybe i can answer you

you try set to ondemand or powersave

switching to power save in TW roms will already limit your proc to 1,200, granting pretty good power savings. i just said power save three times in one sentence
*
spotted 3 scheduler too! noop, deadline, cf. laugh.gif laugh.gif

current setting

MHz Max = 800
MHz Min = 200

Governor = ondemand
scheduler = deadline

starting time : 11:22am with 91% left.

Report back again tonight see this setting works or not.

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Jun 27 2013, 11:48 AM)
Once upon a time , SetCpu is a " must have app " if you are rooted , regardless if u r on stock or custom kernel . If u r on stock kernel , SetCpu normally doesn't do u any good as you cant control much with it . Things like setting lower CPU from 1600 to 1400 is possible , setting screen off to 800 is also possible but setting things like ondemand , performance , hotplug , etc doesnt do much as most stock kernel doesn't really support it . These days , with developers giving free apps like Stweak whenever u flash a kernel , SetCpu is slowly dying off , in Samseng's devices la that is . AOSP roms have their own control in " Performance " . CM , I tak tau , havent flash a real CM based ROM in a while , hate the updated and once a while update with no changes just to please flashaholic like alexng2208 . Others devices may still need to use SetCpu to control it but that is another story/thread . The end .  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Aha! At least can scale down the clock speed at certain set situation is kinda good already, well at least for ppl that like to stay at stock all the time but still mange to to keep the batt in control. (E.g. Me. laugh.gif)

But anyways bro, thank you for telling this. Baru migrate to android from fruits, still have more to learn. cool2.gif

yes, modem is baseband, Your friend got emei corrupted on the last MF1 or on this new MF2?
*
His set got screw up from DMC3 to to MF1 on the 1st time.

Then reflash again with MF1 official without root to get the imei fixed.

Then wipe and flash again with MF1 pre rooted.

And now, hand itchy updated to MF2 via OTA and lost his root.

So now using helium backup everything, then wipe and flash back the MF1 pre root.

Lol. I know its kinda messy.

ic, so the stock rom he's now using are pre-rooted MF1, and not trying to root the MF2?
*
Yea. Exactly, linux noobie here so hardly to cook own stock pre rooted rom.

Haven't see any update on xda side yet. So currently will stick to MF1 pre rooted until there's new one coming out lo.

P/s: Once rooted, will never go back. tongue.gif
