QUOTE(ello @ May 11 2006, 01:09 AM) die because of that.. omg....
yeah blueskies uncle probably died of something called peritonitis following the rupture of the stomach due to an ulcer in the stomach.. its a dangerous condition thats y i was saying to get it treated n not wait too long.. i'm not disagreeing with health food but i find that it sometimes give ppl a false sense of security.. (for those who would like to know, peritonitis is an inflammation of the intestine covering which would lead to shock n subsequently death)

QUOTE(What61 @ May 10 2006, 03:22 PM) well of course panadol or any pill wont dissolve in water because its just water.. if you add panadol in the gastric acid and see wat will happen? i'm sure it'll dissolve.. all medicine are made with account to our body's physiology.. but in case of this doctor in US.. the patient there might be a strong possibility that he may already be having disease of the colon or any other part in the intestinal tract if not i dont think the doc would actually go clean his colon in the first place.. and if you actually read up bout how gastric ulcer or duodenal ulcer develop you'll be surprise to find that a bacteria is actually causing it.. in that case you'll need antibiotics for it to get better, of course in this case its mild so nothing to worry about... but its always better to be safe than sorry.. n dont drag any illness too long.. y suffer in pain n not take drugs to relieve it? just my 2cents Yep what you say is right Panadol doesn't need 5 years to disintegrate, it it supposed to provide a fast relieve to pain so the half life and pharmacokinetics are definately shorter than 5 years as claimed by one of the member here. Btw, antacids should work in mild gastric and indigestion...if it doesn't work try Zantac or any other acid suprresent drug but please speak to the doctor or pharmacist before you start on any medication !
