Any one knows the standard guideline for car park lot size for condominium in Malaysia? My parking lot is right in the middle of 2 concrete walls and i can barely squeeze out from my car. mad.gif Already complaint to the management.
Just want to have documents to back my request to change the parking lot.

u shud park after ur passenger out only. then squeeze to the left so that the driver can come out. seems like the parking size is actually right, only there's no rules that preventing designers from putting it between 2 walls. standard is 4.8m by 2.4m. most design in malaysia just use 5m by 2.5m. singkapork parking size is wayyyy smaller (shorter) yo.. u cannot even enter if not by reversing ur car.

u got a PREMIUM parking lot as far as i'm concerned

right now parking is empty

wait until parking full then u know why i call premium

other pipu park beside u no care one will just simply open door wide and bang ur car with their door edges

end up u get dings and kinks on your car

In oversea, there is a clear guideline about "adjacent obstruction" to the car park space - such as:

http://websrv.municipality.gov.bh/ppd/doc/study_carpark.pdf
QUOTE
(ii) Adjacent obstruction If the side boundary of a space is a wall or fence, or if there are obstructions such as columns placed so as to restrict door opening, 300 mm shall be added to the width of the space.

http://www.cityofevanston.org/pdf/Lot_and_..._Guidelines.pdf
QUOTE
Parking Adjacent to Walls
Walls and other impediments provide additional restrictions for opening doors. Spaces adjacent to walls or other impediments shall be at le st 9.5 feet wide.

I am not sure Malaysia follow these guide lines or not.
One standard document i can find related to Malaysia is this:

normal spacing between column is either 8.0m, 8.2m, 8.4m, 9m(shopping mall) (for normal 3 cp) which include the column width

column is from typical 600mm (carpark floor only) ~ 750mm (retail mall etc) width (square size normally)

for high rise the column width varies and may goes way up to 1.2m or even more width (rectangular size becoz limit the width)

so is 8.2-0.75 /3 =2.48m ok, if 8.4-1.2 / 3 = 2.4 also ok...

the odd parking space next to wall or other things is because archi/client try squeeze more carpark within a floor... depends on your luck la if that is the case...
