For those talking about how there aren't many marquee names Liverpool is linked and that we are buying players that are relatively unknown (at least to us anyway), here is a very good article by Paul Tomkins with stats to show how marquee signings have fared compared to the relative unknowns from 1994 to 2011 in Liverpool. QUOTE(imin @ Jun 26 2013, 01:32 PM) liverpool bought many strikers and attacking mids.. and no (new) defenders yet... i know what they're up to... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « instead of playing with no recognizable strikers (false no 9) like spain, they are going to play next season with no recognizable defenders... so the opposition strikers will surely get confused, donno whom they will have to pass through... this will be a new trend, started by liverpool. i bet even chris lam didn't see this coming Hahaha! Doesn't matter if we concede goals right as long as we score more than you. XD

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jul 4 2013, 03:59 PM) He isn't the finished article and at 21, he still have time on his side. Shelvey has potential and he needs first team football, something he won't get with us. It's a good move for him actually. Not sure if there is a buy back clause in his contract. I think he has the right attitude but he's a loose cannon, something Stevie G was much earlier in his career. If given a choice between attitude vs. ability, I'd opt for attitude but they two are not mutually exclusive, case in point being Stevie G. I like Jonjo and I'm hoping he'll flourish at Swansea. He really had potential, I think a loan move would have been better. Then include in the contract that Swansea can buy him after the loan finishes if they want to. Instead of straight selling him.

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Jul 4 2013, 05:10 PM) They offer 25mil only Either they think we are stupid or the reporter just smoke ganja. Either way, it is still funny. Hahaha... Wenger will never splurge 50mil on a single player la. Just not Wenger.

There are reports of Liverpool firming up their interest in Alderweireld to make a bid soon after he said he wants to go to the Premier League and that Liverpool is a team that interest him. Apparently, he don't want a move to Leverkusen cause can't agree on wages. Hope we do get him, he would look to be good to partner Agger.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Jul 16 2013, 05:12 PM) Higuain is a good take... 10m +Higuan is only 30m+? Since Wenger bid 20m+ for Higuain... 15m+ Higuain seems to be a good deal though... hmmm Highly doubt that this would become reality though as Real are yet to show even the slightest indication of being interested in Suarez. He merely said he would love to play for them. Although, there is still a long way more to go till the close of the transfer window and I could stand corrected. Although, I think Liverpool will do everything in its power to ensure that Suarez doesn't end up in another Premier League club. Higuain does look a good striker to have.

QUOTE(jacckl @ Jul 19 2013, 11:36 AM) not related to liverpool news but this is really omg if it's true. got this comment from other forum No surprises as PSG already issued a warning to Barcelona. If Barcelona continue to chase Thiago Silva, they will try to buy Barcelona players including Messi. XD You know they have the money to do so. Messi probably wouldn't leave but who's to say others won't.

QUOTE(yarusaru @ Jul 22 2013, 11:15 AM) oh ic.. so is cortouis no.1 for belgium then? should be, he is super awesome! Yea, he is the first choice for Belgium and he extended his loan deal for another season. It's scary too since he is only 20 and he is already the first choice and regarded as one of the top young keepers with loads of first team experience. Another Casillas in the making perhaps..?
