Bro, I don't wanna be crashing down after a highly brought up hope. Let's wait after the talk between BR and LS.

By the way, Indon crowd 70k but Ozzy crowd 95k only because of 1 person. Luis Suarez.
*

Liverpool looking for left-back, confirms Rodgers

So who's the best choice available after Chelsea rejected our approach for Bertrand?

probably back up for jose or jose to be back up player... robbo quite nice.. i like his defensive awareness only attacking threat not that great.. for me he's quite ok enough for back up player... on other thought, he really need to change his appearance.. his typical english clumsy hair hardly to convince fan that he's good enough
*
leighton baines hair oso is messy and got that clumsy look wut biggrin.gif

Here's a question. How many marquee signings have we actually had? We talk about FSG being reluctant to sign a reputable player, despite them willing to offer a fair sum for Mkhitaryan and yet, have Gillett & Hicks, or David Moores really splurged on a big name? Even if they have, how often? Since the advent of the Premiership, Liverpool haven't been known to spend big on players. It says something that at the time Houllier signed Djibril Cisse in 2004, it was for a club record of $14 million pounds, but I'd hardly consider him a marquee signing. To put things in perspective, Newcastle signed Alan Shearer for $15 million in 1996, 8 years earlier.

If memory serves me, Houllier's biggest signing was probably Jari Litmanen, and we signed him for free. Rafa also signed another player with a big reputation for free - Fernando Morientes. The only marquee player I can remember signing in the past 2 decades is Fernando Torres. Xabi Alonso is a great player but hardly a marquee signing when we got him. FSG were about to splash $25 mil on Mkhitaryan which would have made him our 2nd most expensive signing every, behind Andy Carroll and just ahead of Luis Suarez. To say they are skint and unwilling to spend is unfair. It is true however that they are fussy when it comes to who to sign? Several criteria have to be met e.g. age, stats, etc.

Fact of the matter is we seldom purchase any player who would make the top 10 list of "best players in the world" at the time we buy them, especially if there is a big transfer fee involved.
*
carloz want us to sign a marquee players like messi, cr, ribbery, etc. He only want to see us to sign a confirmed-proven-kaw-kaw-liao players to join us. other than dat, he is crap, he is bs, he this n dat.

Instant fix is impossible now for us, unless we are Citeh, Chelski of PSG.

He must got a lots of friends from Citeh/Chelski, my advise is to not eat their words.

*
Marquee signing is proven, reputable, legendary and unique player that you and your girl friend already known of his existence. He must have possess ability like Messi, Zidane or Pirlo. Any football player that is unknown to you, is not a marquee player.

U don't trust stranger.

He must possess ability like Messi Zidane & Pirlo? LOL

Yea I remember mr moody's definition of "Marquee" signing. CR7, Messi and Cesc Fabregas etc. ALL the BIG names that go past the 30-40mil dollar mark.
Says a lot about mr. moody here.

Sorry, but my definition of marquee signing is not as classy as you thought. Those names you mentioned are galacticos level players.

A marquee signing don't have to be a Ballon D'Or candidate or World's Best XI FFS
*
That is how I define your 'marquee signing'. U seems only want to see players that YOU think suit to play with us. Meanwhile, u diss our new boys and already label them just after 1-2 friendly games.

U label me, I label u.

Fine, dig up my posts then and FIND me a statement that shows I dissed the new Boys after the friendly...(Aspas, Alberto, Toure, Ibe and so on)

If you manage to find something, I will swallow my mouse right now.

If you can't, then you eat your keyboard.

Let's GO...come... biggrin.gif

you are the one who are so interested to dig up my old post and now u ask me to do that? There's already few ppl who disagree with your opinion, wonder why we did that. No, its not bcuz we hate u or something, but its your opinion which is kinda unrealistic for our club to deploy and exercise.

After numbers of injury series he go through and went to sidelines, this boy deserve more chances to prove himself, no?

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Jul 25 2013, 01:43 AM)
For some winning the League Cup is a far more bigger achievement than qualifying for CL.

On a side note, nice to know that LYN Pool fans are slowly awakened from their slumber one by one.  thumbup.gif It's good to have a strong belief and faith in your team and players, but by misplacing the faith at the wrong brains and wrong legs one is equally guilty of doing a disservice to the club.

I see this cycle of exodus cumming miles away the moment Rafa left. And ppl slammed me for being a pessimist.
*
Perhaps u can tell me these names? From the way I read, it portray to our old and new boys. So yeah.

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Jul 25 2013, 01:31 PM)
Good point. Suarez is not the issue. IT's the god damn system and FSG's moneyball policies.

Signing mid table players as your statement of intent. Going for youth and hoping they will become superstars and cash them out. Not willing to pay top dollar for marquee players. Losing out on transfers because unwillingness to pay extra over 1-2mil. Saving wages and all that moneyball nonsense.

Let's face it. FSG is here for one thing and one thing only. it's just a BUSINESS to them. And BR is no Arsene Wenger.
*
Truth is we already know FSG are not going to do Roman or Syeikh, but that doesnt mean he wont spent a peny and they did allow BR to sign new faces. Personally I am grateful for the debt they cleared, and most importantly we dont become like Leeds. Yanks will be yanks, you just love to stereotype ppl.

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Jul 25 2013, 02:02 PM)
LOL. Telling me to support another club. Get this all the time prophet. Hate the game, not the player. Face it, club competitiveness can be bought with financial prowess in a capitalism market.

That's the only way Liverpool gets to stay in the game and or else the club will be trapped in a cycle of mediocrity for the next 10-20 years.

For a moment, I thought you were freed from the matrix.
*
Afraid that even a local Liverpudlian will not agree to this, its just not the Liverpool way they said.

Have faith carloz.
