QUOTE(Unseen83 @ Sep 9 2013, 10:15 PM) yes is 3D and GTX 780M GPU with 3D enable/accessories Check on their website and it did not mention 3d screen. How do I verify that? In perth here, they cant open the box and let me try the unit and for Aud 2999, it does not come with any freebies.x Congrat on Hot looking G750jx oh please don't put NB on Bed... bad heat/air circulation.... QUOTE(horns @ Sep 10 2013, 08:43 AM) with a price tag of 3299 AUD, it's hard to believe that it doesn't come with a 3d screen. the store's pdf doesn't show that. Thx for the tips. They give me a discount and selling at 2999 and I could get a tax refund on this. So basically it will cost around 2.7k AUD. Thinking of getting this today but still looking for 3d option.one way to look for hints about the screen is to check out the specs sticker on the box. it should be something 3d. (e.g. Full HD 3D(1920x1080 120Hz) Non-Glare LCD Panel) it's no wonder there is no jh in malaysia. it's really very low in terms of performance / value ratios :/ |

Been testing my g750 over the weekend and I am quite impress with the performance of the laptop. I had install SC2, d3, grid2 and NFSMW and only NFSMW I could not max out the setting as it will lag.
Guess I need to start oc this laptop soon. |

QUOTE(holloway @ Oct 11 2013, 10:42 AM) Depends on which model you're going for there is the JX model and the JH model. For JX model i think can get less than 5K which is really good but comes with 770M for JH models comes with 780M but still below 6K. It all goes down to which is easier to maintain, better cooling, better upgradeability and lastly outer looks (well there is more i think but this is the major ones i will look at initially) I am using the G750 JH model. Indeed it is very heavy together with the charger but the performance you get is pretty much quite worth it to me.also the weight for G55 + the brick like charger can consider you're carrying 5KG everyday. G750 is i think alot more heavier since it's 17" not so sure about newer models haven't seen any members post about it yet. 1) Not sure, i think they will just format it. Don't think they have time to fix virus (Just use antivirus [a decent one such as kaspersky] would help you solve the problem) 2) Well windows 8 have factory reset option if i'm not mistaken. Where as win7 will use recovery disc instead. So if you use your 5 DVD recovery disc it will go back to your initial windows which is win7 but if you use win8 then win8 it is. |

QUOTE(holloway @ Oct 12 2013, 09:47 AM) Thanks for the info.. But wow. That is expensive.. Any special addons? Or is it stock.. Seems like getting msi is cheaper if according to that price.. Or even can get alienware There is no special add on and no laptop bags or anything extra given. Just the standard package JH non 3d version model. I intend to get MSI initially but when in the end still go for Asus due to the design. I love the matt on the cover and the aluminum near the keyboard. Its around 9k.. But heck its exp actually..hmm.. FYI, in AU this JH specs is more cheaper than Allienware and the storage on the standard specs is good enuff for me. |

QUOTE(aimanace94 @ Oct 29 2013, 09:24 PM) hey guys ever since i upgraded to Win 8.1 my disk tray (disk tray is it?) keep making its mechanical sound (similar to when u boot the computer) like every hour . I think I am facing the same issue as you, I had upgrade to win 8.1 and upgrade the GPU drivers. Feel the whole pc had some lag when switching program. know why it does that ? just curious . i didn't do anything . |

QUOTE(holloway @ Nov 1 2013, 08:05 AM) Have no ideas on that, never occurred to me while i was using win8 back then or i didn't realize but i think never occurred i usually stayed up late so when it's quite i should be able to hear it if it makes that sound. Yes, the lag occur even the laptop has been rebooted. I think the issue is resolve after the latest Nvidia drivers update. One reason i stick to win7 lol. Seems like i have alot of trouble when using win8 back then. Although i had to admit the boot time is fast, file transfer is fast compared with win7 but the stability of win7 is a bliss. I'm not giving that away~ Regarding the lag when switching programs, does it occur even when the laptop has been rebooted? |

QUOTE(holloway @ Nov 1 2013, 09:47 AM) good to know I update the drivers due to it mention performance update for dirt2. When i was playing dirt2 and max the setting out, sometimes I feel it lags that why I choose the update. After the first update, performance in game din change much but I feel the lag when multi tasking. Only until the latest drivers that was release last week solve my issue. I am so piss at the begining till I am thinking of upgrading the SSD as other component seems to be on the high end side aldy. |

QUOTE(dragonblayde @ Nov 2 2013, 05:01 PM) guys im considering getting g750jx, is it worth the price? im gonna use it as a desktop replacement...my pc is too old to handle any high-end game I am using the JH model, i think its worth except for the weight. Go check out the physical unit and see you like it or not, everyone will have their own preference. |

QUOTE(holloway @ Nov 14 2013, 05:07 PM) nope not yet In terms of specs, proc, gpu and ram. They are identical. Heck even the screen are identical The difference i would say is 1) the cooling system (For asus u might realize it's abit quiet compared to AW) Unless you get annoyed easily with sound of fan (and always stay in a secluded area where no aircond no fan at all just stagnant air) or in a very very very room or office yeah you could hear the difference. But rarely happens~ let's say asus wins here 2) the speaker and sound ( asus is well known for sucky sound ) can be seen on our previous G-series and i don't think they improved alot in this areas (correct me if i'm wrong) since i've seen the comparison (on youtube) not for g750 tho. But yeah alienware has better speakers with 7.1 integrated surround support. lets say AW wins here 3) the dvd player. looking at asus they provide with blu-ray multi combo DVD-rw where as AW only comes with super multi drive (i think this one is quite similar to our previous g55 series) well a plus is a plus indeed. so lets say asus wins here 4) the wifi. i'm not so sure what does the g750 comes with. but i'm pretty sure they don't put up with much effort on this also (probably) but looking at AW seems like they already provide with .ac 2 antennae wifi card. So lets say AW wins here 5) finally, warranty + the build itself. First of all, AW is well known for their capability to customize whilst ASUS is so against customization. They even (if i'm not mistaken) soldered both CPU and GPU on their g750 series. This is a drawback imho for gaming laptop enthusiast that prefers to upgrade stuff overtime instead of keep buying new laptop. Other than that ASUS is well known for their very fortified build (u want to disassemble? clean those fans and stuff? ) bring it to asus SC center. Whilst for AW users they can easily access those and clean those fan as they like. only our G75 series has easy access to the fans. In terms of warranty, i think AW does better in this field not saying that ASUS did a bad job but AW so far has better reputation if compared. Some might have better experience at asus SC but alot and alot i've seen has even better experience with AW. For Pricing, I think AW will be quite abit more expensive compared to ASUS because of their premium service. Not that ASUS is dirt cheap either but yeah there will be price differences p/s: this is my personal opinion. trying hard not to be biased. other's or alot out there might disagree with me but yeah this is my personal opinion based on what i've seen and read around. |
