QUOTE(riku2replica @ Oct 23 2014, 02:47 PM) Disassembly is easy for G-Series once you know which part to be cautious and the tons and tons of screws to be careful of. Though i can't tell how the hell did the technicians go through to get used with so many G-Series out int he market. Unlike horns, i did not broke any screws but i drop one screw on the the laptop internal when i want to lock my touchpad panel and chassis. I just leave it there for now until the next disassemble i'll get it out and placed it back. bro, usually do asus let us purchase g551 w/o hdd, free dos & 8gb ram one slot or i bring my own ssd/hdd or ram for them to install for us? Not to mention, my G-Series is 3 Years old by now. I'll look out for G56JR if there will be any price cut or a G551 pickup sometime within these 2-3 weeks. Read from NBR, the remaining GTX 9xxM Series production will start next year March as current manufacturing line is focusing on GTX 970M/980M. |

QUOTE(horns @ Oct 23 2014, 04:58 PM) right bro g551 only one fan. do i need to wait dec or just buy now? i getting ssd 256gb & 2x8gb ram so total will cost around 4k. if this case get desktop seem better. really confuse now.previously i was too eager to see the internals that a very quick turn of screw drivers broke the place holder. and the same thing happened twice lol! g551 is better imo |

G551 don't have m.2 so PCI-E > m.2?? if i getting G551 i don't like hdd with 5400rpm.. my 4 yrs old lappy using momentus 7200rpm which i plan to use as my storage by using enclosure usb 3.0 or act as my primary drive.. ram i prefer 8gb so that can add another 8gb for max 16gb support. don't wish too spent so much on computer.. too bad asus don't offer free dos. if ram still able to upgrade but slightly expensive since asus charge more. while once i really decide what to buy then i will ask asus for quotation.
