yeah it sounds like bricked bios. something was wrong during the bios flashing. normally it will turn on automatically after that.
there is no guaranteed way to revive bricked bios in asus laptops unfortunately. however, there are a number of options that you can try out (with no guarantee to work :/):
first of all, unplug the laptop battery and power source, then press the power button for more than 30 seconds.
1. download the stock bios from asus;
2. format a thumbdrive with fat32;
3. extract the bios directly from the archive to thumbdrive;
4. plug the thumbdrive to the laptop; and put back the battery and power source;
5. turn the laptop on by pressing power button (let's hope it boot);
6. if it does boot, press and hold simultaneously left ctrl+home key until the bios flash menu shows up;
7. the system should do the rest.
another option is to do the discharging like above, then leave it for a day or two, without battery and power source. then put in the battery and power source to try turn it on. i know the chance is very slim, but these were reported to work.
the last option is beyond me, i.e. take out the cmos battery, unsolder the bios flash, buy new compatible bios flash, reprogram it, then solder to the mobo. i think someone must have known this. the one i know is in brazil :/
wow asus charge MYR 550 for this eh? damn.
Bro, unsolder the bios chip is the most difficult task, I dun think technician here will do that. It's risky, time consuming, need the same chip and board and require a very skillful person to perform the task. IMHO they rather replace u with another board instead.
Side note: G53SX has reported few units failing to flash to latest Bios, unfortunately ur customer fall into the same category as well. Anyone if need to do any flashing yourself really need to do some research 1st, else it will end up like that.
