MAS has been extremely competitive with its air fare pricing of late. Gotta make a short trip to KL next Saturday and MAS is the cheapest, follow by Malindoair and Air Asia is the most expensive. Their international flights are cheap too during the last few promotions. I paid only RM797 for a return ticket to Japan  biggrin.gif
*
hmm.gif Cheap air fare is good for passenger..............RM797 is nice
maybe MAS wanna chase for the market share, need dig some passenger from AA

anyway, it may not benefit to the investor..............this action may suffer loss in short/mid term. only can see the result after few year (after MAS's image change)

example the relation among AMD and Intel..............AMD has higher market coverage after they come out the K6-II rpocessor (the first proc that can compete with Intel), selling cheap. But the more they sold, the higher they loss.

So all depend on operational cost

MAS and AA have different market.. If company pay for your air ticket for business trip, which airlines you will choose?
*
biggrin.gif but the quantity of above mentioned passenger type vs passenger of AA

its huge different, maybe 1:100

I think you should be well aware all shares DO NOT go straight up or down.
It's always x steps forward, y steps back.

And it's the share market.
Which is why I will never dare use the words 'no chance'.

If you take the time, just last month MAS went from a low of 34.5 to 41 sen.
That's good money for traders who can catch such movements.

Having said that, let me be clear.
I have no idea how MAS the share will perform in the future.
Frankly, I do not care but I won't simply use the words like 'no chance to rebound'...

Wow... Now Bank also offer nice return saving plan...

1st five year put $ like FD ... every year put 10k RM ...till year 5.

During 1st five every year paid out 1100RM.

then year 6 onward will get 2200RM... till year 15....

The banker said got 6% per year ....

Any accountant here ?

I know is not right to use this way of calculation, but if u use present value and future value formula, is only slightly more den fd.

Present value 50k. After 15-20 yrs(based on ur age), the surrender value maybe few hundred thousand.
*
hmm.gif I calculated and compare with conventional FD

if place in FD (10k annually for 5 years) with yearly 3.2% interest, after 15 years............you will get RM75,376

if place in SP as mentioned above, after 15 years you get RM77,500

laugh.gif you prefer which?

one kind of saving plan from UOB .... din ask for surrender... coz soon i will go SG work.. got extra money place to put at this kind of FD... then the rest will buy some property at penang and some for play share smile.gif
*
laugh.gif this kind of SP is suitable for Singaporean as their FD rate is damn low................

malaysia offer much better FD rate and bond

hmm.gif I personally dun like Saving Plan, the return around same with FD but need a long lock in period.

We have many choice like sukuk bond which provide higher return, no lock in period.
