It is an issue. And this is coming from someone who is blessed with Unifi in a highly urban area like Subang Jaya with a decent PC to boot, plus a smart phone with data plan. Even with Unifi, it DOES go down once in a while. A minor inconvenience yes, but you won't feel the negative of the 24 hr login issue unless you encounter a situation like:-
1) You played Forza 5 last night. Managed to unlocked the Mclaren. Since it is bed time you shut off your Xbox one and go to bed
2) The next day you did a little overtime and return back later than usual. It is Friday night, and you want to race in your just unlocked Mclaren.
3) But then you realized that there is no internet connection, which means.....
4) .. you cannot authenticate your Forza 5 with Microsoft servers since the late time you game, which is last night.
5) ...so you try to connect using using your smartphone, because you have a smartphone with data plan.
6) ... but then realized M$ decided to make you download a huge ass patch to update the Xbone before you can game (speaking from experience with Games for Windows Live)
7) ... but your data plan while is has 3GB or unlimited data cap it is not as fast as broadband
8) ... so unable to login and play with your just unlocked Mclaren you wish you bought a PS4 or any other device which has non-restrictive DRM.
Sony has made a pretty bold statement with its no DRM stance. I am not a Sony fanboy, but if Sony decided to backtrack on their statements you can expect a huge backlash to them.
Sony just kinda backtracked with its DRM stance by saying it all depends on the 3rd party which is the games publisher. Hmm.....all this is too complicated la. Why must they do all this? Let us all enjoy playing video games please.... 1) You played Forza 5 last night. Managed to unlocked the Mclaren. Since it is bed time you shut off your Xbox one and go to bed
