I just found out that cellular/LTE/4G Samsung and Apple tablets cannot make phone calls/sms independently = must be paired with a smartphone to make phone calls/sms.

There are other cellular/LTE/4G Android tablets that can make phone calls/sms independently = no need smartphone. .......

With the affordable unlimited-data phone plans, subscribers can have near-desktop mode by using the Samsung on Dex or Huawei EMUI desktop app, or a 4G LTE Android tablet together with on-screen Hacker's Keyboard app or BT keyboard+mouse, or a USB-C hub/docking station.
....... Of course the above setups can't replace a Windows/MacOS/Linux desktop computer. For those who really need to work on such a desktop computer, they should subscribe to the unlimited-data fixed Fiber Internet Ethernet modem-router plans or 4G modem plans(like TM Unifi Air) or phone plans that come with unlimited hotspot data, eg Digi Infinite 150. .......

PS - A Linux OS, eg Ubuntu 2004, or Win 10 can be installed on an Android phone by using the Linux Deploy/Andronix or Limbo PC Emulator app and a VNC app. Seems the installed desktop OS running "remotely" from within Android can use the phone's unlimited-data. .......

The Alldocube iPlay 20 is better than expected for its price. You're just not going to find another tablet for $100 with the same bright 16:10 1200p display, 4G LTE connectivity, Android 10 out-of-the-box, and MicroSD support all in one.

There are two major drawbacks to the Alldocube tablet since corners had to be cut to meet the target price point. Processor performance in particular is atrociously slow and so applications won't launch as quickly as most people are accustomed to. Multi-tasking isn't instantaneous and most 3D games are sluggish and choppy. The odd power consumption behavior, very slow charging rate, and average battery life could have been better without needing to up the cost of the device. "

Note that the Cellular/LTE Ipad and certain Cellular/LTE Samsung 10" Android tablets cannot make Cellular Voice calls and SMS, ie can only use Cellular/LTE data to surf the web/Internet or open/run Apps. Note that WhatsApp calls use Cellular data.

Nearly all China-made Cellular/LTE Android tablets can make Cellular Voice calls and SMS(= 3G/2G), besides can use Cellular data = these 10" tablets can replace 7" smartphones to become Super-sized phones or Home-phones.
