Hello. I know Malaysians love football, especially the Malays and Indians, but how come we still cannot qualify ourselves for a spot in World Cup? What do you think is the main problem? What do you think should be done to fix this? And last but not least, is there any future for Malaysian football?

dah bincang banyak kali sangat dah benda ni..

Get politicians and leaders out of FAM and let football experts take over, abolish the 'only president can comment on the team' policy. Too much politics in our football.

I think the problem is everywhere. From the top brass to the normal citizen. For example no home support, no gate receipts, equal to no money and no budget for grass-root development. Have to rely on sponsor, FAM allocation, state money forever which is in the end related to politician.

As for FAM, there's nothing to explain. Their problem is well-known. Hopefully KJ can do something.

first and foremost sorry if i offended anybody, just my view on this

i've seen my cut during my high school days on how,
that the bumis does get extra privilege,
i have seen a couple of my friend pretty damm talented, but they did not get the nod over them set of peeps
all this small issues, may seem small, but in the long term and over the years...
it has in a way alienate the chinese crop of players in participating in malaysian football.
and i personally feel, malaysians are missing out on this.

some may argue, that we did not put enough effort to be seen or express ourself..but i think it is what it is.
my pov may seem dumb, but yeh...thats just what i saw during my high school days.
life is never fair i guess.

strangely this problem does not effect indians.

considering they are the minority compare to malay and chinese , they are quite actively visible in local football.

most of top coaches in our country are indians. and they have strong participation in harimau muda and national team.

they also have teams in 1MCC youht league as well. i did not notice any chinese teams. i also notice some indian clubs in my area.

the same also can be noticed during youth talent scout shows like myteam and soccerkids. even if the patron of the program is dato chan and the coaches and selectors are mat salleh, still no chinese kids shows up. all just malay or indian.

uhh, i am talking about school days story
not sure what club are u refering to, and if they are professional footballers earning wages
or just a for fun club, i to have a few friends playing in clubs..but it is more like a hobby thing, not a career.

of course there are still plenty of chinese playing football i am not saying non, i myself do
but from the local league itself, not sure there is much chinese players compared to back then.
reason to this, they ain't good enough? maybe...i dont know.

I think race isn't really the issue. Mentality might be, but that's another story. Just look at our Harimau Muda and U-23 head coach, Ong Kim Swee. He has pretty successful career, arguably one of better coach and tactician in Malaysia football.

I hope someday somebody can forward the same question to him, intriguing to hear his take on this matter as he has been in the scene for nearly two decades.

its not all about management side. The players itself must have great technical and different mind set. Look at nazmi faiz he got the chance to play outside at portugal. He is still young (at age of 19) but cameback to play at Malaysia for several of reasons. Most players from country that qualify for worldcup start at young age. 8-13 they develop technical skills at age 15 they already played as a team with tactics. Our country still develop individual skills until 15-18. Chinese malay indian can be great player. But it depends on surrounding support (Especially family) and themself also. Im suprise where at England they started intensive technical and teamwork clinic at age of 13?. Our player age 13 still develop individual play.

Football is football, politics is politics. But bringing racism into football? Oh god.
