Reach limit is depends on self control no?

I know Maybank ATM card can use as debit card, but if emergency and no money that time how?
Can use the ATM card to do online purchase too?

As long as you keep sufficient money in your debit card, then you don't have to worry. It will be same as credit card.

And debit card spending lagi terasa when you tengok your balance ditolak, compared to credit card kena tunggu bill.

What emergency? Debit card better for control since you know if you simply spend now, later tak cukup duit for other things/emergency. Credit card: spend now never mind, still can use for "emergency" later.

IMO, if credit card the term "emergency" will later become "omg sale 50% with limited stock! Need to buy now before habis!"

I hv one question, can Debit card we bayar ansuran like credit card?

for example if we buy items RM2000. though we have RM5000 on our acc, by using debit card, it will tolak sikit for example like RM500 per month? got debit card like that ka?

That one is not handled by the card agency, but the seller.

I'm not sure in Malaysia, but it's quite common in Europe. You will have to ask the seller if he is willing to do an installment plan of Rm500/month. If he agrees to, your card will be billed for RM500/month.

For example, I'm subscribed to some services with my debit card. Every 3 months, I get billed bout Rm100. And every month I get billed RM30.

No la, buy things of course will self control one.
Emergency is like when parents or ownself need hospitalization, can't wait insurance or can't claime or need to wait long time... Then don't have enough money in bank account for debit card to use, sometimes hospital operation can cost sky high one ma. At least can 'borrow' money from bank to save life first lor. I think in this case, insurance is not good enough for medical emergency lor because need to investigate, wait for claime, wait for transfer....... If use debit card, means account already got lots of cash lor, can direct transfer no need to worry liao, don't even need to use that debit card in this case.

Just started to get 3k last month, so will really consider a card later this year.

Thanks for all replies.

Well, depends. If you have medical insurance, generally you will get a personal ID card that you can just pass to the hospital.

Even if you don't have the personal ID card, you can ask the hospital to just call the insurance company that you're subscribed too.

Personally, the hospital will treat all patients as they come in and not delay treating just to verify all the detail. Refusal of treatment by hospital, in emergency cases, is actually against the law. Most often they will start to treat that patient immediately while the other relatives/guardian go and sort out the paperwork (which isn't really a lot).

Point is, I'm not saying credit card is bad etc. I'm just pointing out that such "emergencies" of hospitalisation etc... doesn't really require the use of credit card as you would imagined them to be.
