enligthen me for plans;

5 days
staying around jimbaran area

Can you eat non-halal food? If yes, these are the must try food in Bali :
1. Babi Guling Pak Malen
2. Babi Guling Pak Dobiel
3. Warung Cahaya
4. Nasi Ayam Ibu Oki (Halal)
5. Ayam Betutu Khas Gilimanuk (Halal)

Those are the must eat local food in Bali, you should try out those food.

Around Jimbaran Area, I wouldn't say much things to do other than moderate taste but expensive seafood but if you insist, you choose Menega Cafe in Jimbaran for seafood. For lots of people, Menega Cafe's seafood is better than the others.

For chilling out, depends on your budget, we could go from the expensive ones to hang out (El Kabron, Mrs Sippy, Komune Beach club, Sunday's beach club, Finn's Beach Club) to cheap but good place like La Plancha or any beach side chill place in Seminyak beach. Expensive places which I mentioned will costs around 100-150 RM per pax inclusive of usage of swimming pools and some drinks and snacks, its expensive but I think you should try at least 1 of them, because that's the best of Bali is biggrin.gif

For casual exploring, Bali basically offers Mountain, some lakes and great waterfalls.
Mountains and waterfalls are a bit far from Jimbaran, but you could always drive (1 hour) to great places like Tegenungan Waterfall and Tegallalang Rice Paddy fields in Ubud area.

For Bali first timer, you can drive up to Tanah Lot and Monkey Forest in Ubud.

Hope these helps biggrin.gif

I can help you on your plan. Before that, need to know first what you're into? Photography? Place to chill and drink?
And who are you going there with?

Place to chill, watch sunset, temple, i'm going with a friend. He said we can rent a bike and he can bring me anywhere as long
as I plan it. biggrin.gif

don need a guide..i think u can do your own planning..within city u can easily get uber/grab, or rent a bike(even cheaper)

but if lets say u plan to go somewhere far, then maybe just hire a one day driver.

Tips for Travelers Heading to Bali

In an attempt to curb the dissemination of misinformation, a Bali Tourism Hospitality Task Force has been established to help handle tourism-related services. Queries should be directed to the Task Force, which will also be responsible for providing updates to travelers and expats.

ABC Australia reported that, assuming travel insurance was purchased in advance of September 15 (when the potential eruption became a well-publicized matter) vacationers in Bali will be protected against any volcanic eruption.

Insurance will not, however, cover fees and costs incurred by travelers who simply want to change plans.

While the eruption of Mount Agung could be quite serious, many popular tourist spots on the island — including Ubud and Seminyak — are a safe distance away from the volcano.

The country has already devised a comprehensive contingency plan for air traffic in the event of an eruption.

Krippner urged travelers to pack long-sleeved shirts and pants, a mask, and protective goggles, in the event that there’s dangerous, widespread ash fall and toxic gases from an eruption.

Hi,

Appreciate your kind advise on
1. the suitable hotel name to stay in Bali. Not too expensive or cheap for a couple.
2. use Agoda for room booking.
3. using Air Asia
4. Visa needed?

We are more into exploring the local scenery, foods and maybe bazaar shopping.

Thank you.

Just go and enjoy, the tourist area is not affected, just that there is a risk of flight cancellation for 1 week if the mount Erupt. But you can take a Ferry to Surabaya and buy a 1 way ticket back to here, or just enjoy Bali for few more days biggrin.gif

1. Which area to stay first? And what are your definition of cheap and not too expensive? I can recommend Liberta Hotel in seminyak, its quite in the central of Seminyak and have clean good rooms for 130 RM per night. Or if you prefer Kuta, you can try Pop Hotel, its very cheap (100 RM per night) but it's in the small valley. The good thing is, its 50 meter walk only to Kuta Beach and 5 mins walk to Legian.

2. Sure, use Agoda / booking.com its all good and the same. You can try traveloka also as it's Indonesian based company so maybe can get better price.

3. I couldn't give any advise on airplane as of course MAS / Malindo should be better but Airasia is not the worst choice.

4. For Malaysian nope, you can stay in Bali for a month haha.

Yes, its lowering down, less tremor, less caution also. But still, anytime the mountain can erupt. I just got back from Bali myself last week. It's nice because less crowd due to the news and you can enjoy more.

Using Scoot airline and return by AA.
Depart from Penang , stopover at Singapore then off to Bali.
Will be travelling next week.

As it is last minute decider ( ya, zero planning ), figure to be more adventurous as afterall just myself and my wife.
Can also consider as overdue honeymoon thumbup.gif
