Yay ....had to self collect this morning. Apparently Pos Malaysia DID NOT see the postcode printed prominently on the first line:

Address is printed like this:

Ref# somenumber
TO Malaysia
51200
MyName
My Address text Kuala Lumpur

So they didn't notice the 51200 shakehead.gif doh.gif and it spent a week getting shuffled around various delivery centers.....

Now I need to wait for the charging coil.

polarzbearz

I will be getting my charging coil tomorrow. I plugged both the chargers into my charger, it lights up with an orange light.

I recall there was some post earlier on the lights, could you please share/repost?

I was also reading the XDA thread for this, it seems to charge up to 750mA for Nexus 4. Hopefully the coil I'm getting can charge to this level, maybe 900mA if I'm lucky tongue.gif

Ok thanks. I started from the later pages.

BTW there's this:

The WCP300 WITH a 1.8A charger.

I finally got my Qi wireless charging coils for the Note 2 and S3.

Tested working with LG's WCP300 Qi wireless charger.

Unfortunately both coils are only receiving 460mAh as shown by GCC. Was hoping to get 600+ input since the Note 2 coil listed 1000mA input.

On the S3, it works with the Melkor Kubalt case. On the Note 2 it seems to only work when naked....darn....

Is it all wireless charges are the same or got "stronger" charging power. .
*
I think the current generation of wireless charging tops out at 1A, maybe 1.5A output. You need both components to work at the max rating otherwise it will end up like my case with lousy input.

The Nexus 4 receiver coil is built in, so you can't change it. From what I read on the XDA thread for this charger, one user posted his logged power input which went up to 750mA, so I suppose the Nexus 4 built in coil is of good quality.

I'll look out for some better rating coils and maybe get another one to try. About RM50, price should go lower in the next couple of months.

hi, do you know if there is any magnets in the wireless orb to hold the n4 in place?
*
The WCP 300 does not have magnets. Read the XDA link from polarzbearz, it shows how some guy added magnets to the WCP300 and also his phone. You will need a dremel tool or similar to drill, and get some quality magnets.

The orb does not have magnet, too. It does have a "non-slippery" surface though (p/s: search on YouTube for "Nexus 4 sliding off Nexus Orb"  icon_idea.gif )

Velcro FTW....

LOL...you may try calling Pos Malaysia at 1300 300 300 for the MY number, and see if they missed your postcode or not.

Later become like your case brows.gif

Anyway how is it so far? Mine's ok but the red-light-and-stop-charging issue is really annoying me. Happens kinda frequently rclxub.gif

But when I take it down my dock, and try to replicate the issue; it hardly happens. I don't even know what's the triggering factor (placement? heat? etc?) rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

I am using it more on the wife's S3. Works pretty well, no red light. My casing is too thick tongue.gif

double checked my address, hope they didn't send wrong place xD

No, it's not about wrong address. My case was that Pos Malaysia DIDN'T READ the printout properly coz the postcode was on top instead of below the address. sweat.gif

SME set?

Ah ,... the power of Samsung marketing, AND the evidence that proper taxonomy is sorely lacking in Marehsia since linguistic interference has confused almost everyone with regards to grammar and terminology.

I see. So, they're mistaking it by the meaning of ORI. Where's LG's service centre btw?
No, not me, but other sellers

From the Note 2 thread:

QUOTE
A word about the terms "AP" and "Ori" (not the best choice of terms, but this is Bolehland)
A real Samsung (or any manufacturer's) device is Original whether it's SME or AP. We get our terminology confused due to the use of the term "AP" here whereas the correct term is "Parallel Import" or "Grey Market". And again due to the proliferation of counterfeit goods in this part of the world, the term "original" is also misappropriated to denote "Genuine".

SME vs AP is simply a matter of distribution channel for a Genuine product. You can also get "original" counterfeits since it comes directly from the manufacturer of said counterfeit.

From Merriam-Webster:
Definition of COUNTERFEIT
1: made in imitation of something else with intent to deceive => LYN's historical topic on the subject - AP, Ori, Water
I presume, since you major in linguistics, you are also conversant with semantics. Di sini taksiran salah and tafsiran salah pun BOLEH. So in most cases, correct semantics is shot to hell here.

999 should be used set.

Cheapest around RM1350 for Local Set with Local LG Warranty (I have to use the right term to prevent a war biggrin.gif)

If you have SKMM Rebate, I saw someone sell for RM1199 after rebate (check Lelong)

AP Set/Parallel Import set, warranty provided by AP Company, cheapest should be around RM1200.

Referring to 16GB for all versions wink.gif

laugh.gif Actually most people are confused and they ask the WRONG question. They will ask is a China phone "ori" wtf...of course it is. It's an original counterfeit or an original China brand laugh.gif

In fact even for "AP" as it applies to cars, it is the Genuine article, just a mode of importation and distribution.

OK I hope everyone is clear as to terminology and can correct those who come after.
