How high is the stone wall? It look to me about 5ft or more?
My house is raised up too, but about 3ft, and my contractor build the footing around 3ft+ deep of digging, which is still sufficient. Anyway I build the structure for 2 floors, but did not build up the back. Only for future if I got $$$$, and the reason for me to do also to make sure contractor build stronger foundation. Of course i have to pay more.

sometime camera angle can play trick on our eyes, look to me could be 2meter or 6ft.
Talam did not cut corner, but pay the sub con penny so sub con do penny work

I doubt granite stone wall are strong. RC have rebar to support the tension, and wall have high tension on the outter area.
