just a quick question.
if i were to flash an unbranded LTE firmware from another country (for example, singapore's .434)

will the baseband be changed? hmm.gif

cuz it happens on samsung where different roms have different baseband.

They do have new exploit by doomlord.
*
[ Tested on ]
Xperia S (LT26) {FW: 6.2.B.0.211} [Cust: 1257-8080] [v10 onwards]
Xperia Z (C6603) {FW: 10.1.1.A.1.307} [Cust: 1270-6704] [v10 onwards]
Xperia SP (C5302) {FW: 12.0.A.1.284} [Cust: 1272-1092] [v11 onwards]

which means i would have to flash to .307 with flashtool? my phone is currently not rooted though.. so not sure if the guide is relevant.

currently on .253. lolz didnt know this firmware cant be rooted. gatal gatal just upgrade on the first day. sweat.gif

http://droidviews.com/2013/install-pre-roo...53-on-xperia-z/

anyway, according to the xda link above.. the 2nd requirement is that i need to have a custom CWM installed.
which means i need to have root access before i get to flash this stock rom from [NUT] ?

aqblood just saw your post..

lol nowonder i kept getting confused... bookmarked the wrong thread sweat.gif

Actually both also can, but as I had tried the OTA using HK .434 , it is not working (not able to update to .307).
At the end , I just flash over eXistenZ after getting root+cwm
*

Factory reset the only way to solved the NFC issue.
*
okay will format when its still fresh now. nod.gif
factory reset as in wipe data in recovery? or wipe internal as well?

QUOTE(jeff10012003 @ Jun 19 2013, 08:52 AM)
just a question, why didn't you directly go to 307?
Nut released 307 firmware already 1-2 weeks...
*
hmm i dont know, maybe cuz im still new to xperia z. so i just stick to .253. hahaha
will check out more tonight..

just rooted last night laugh.gif only thing i flashed was the docomo status bar.

Factory reset at phone itself also can, internal data no need to wipe.

Directly up to .307 since you already use non official update method. .307 is better than .253.
*
alright. will download tonight when im home. thanks
what are the difference?

smoother and more stable?

ehh nvm haha i'll read the changelog later.

ohyea andrew, i backed up my TA partition on .434
if i were to restore back to stock. do i have to flash back a .434 firmware? or i can basically flash any version as long as its stock?

thanks nod.gif

No change log to read for .307,

From my own experience, it had slightly better battery life, .253 is really bad.

Also camera quality seems better, I find it is the best among all the firmware. I can't really said .407 is great, it seems  .307 better, .407 sometimes will abnormally generate a lot of noise even on SCN.
*
alright..

anyway what about the TA partition question in my post?
sry just making sure i dont screw up while restoring laugh.gif

You no need to touch TA as you didn't unlocked the bootloader.
*
but is the TA partition dependent on the firmware version?
if it is then i will make a backup on the firmware im using before i unlock. nod.gif

cuz i made one anyway just in case.. hah

No, it won't change, it dependent on phone, never/can't change by firmware.
*
alright.. so the backup i made is good enough.

still very new to this phone.. so rather play it safe than regret for the next 2-3 years of using laugh.gif

back with samsung, can just root without worrying about bootloaders, TA ptt.,
if need to send back for warranty just flash stock rom then wipe flash counter -> done laugh.gif

sony is a little trickier, i can see. haha

guys,

i have a question

1. now im currently rooted and im considering to unlock my bootloader

2. once i've unlocked.. and IF i were to flash a custom STOCK rom. will i lose the bravia engine feature for the camera?

i know flashing AOSP or AOKP/CM/PA roms, it will be something totally different but what if i were to stick to custom STOCK rom?

thanks nod.gif

1. Yes, you can choose to unlock your bootloader even you're not Rooted.

2. You will loose BE2 & TrackID function. Backup TA partition before unlocking.
*
oh so if i were to flash a custom STOCK rom i will still not have BE2 and other functions?

meaning upon unlocking those are gone already?

wah, means my photos wont have the BE2 feature anymore? hmm.gif

Yep, U are right Bro..Once Unlocked, u will lose BE2 & DRM..Thats is reason why I dont want to Unlock it ..
*
i see.. okay now i know this..

btw, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167064

this rom.. seems to be able to install on LockedBL as well. hmm.gif

but the changelog dont seem that interesting, most of the stuff i installed on my own already.. xposed framework, etc.

BTW, TA partition backup is only about 150kb right? or less..
