Well I'm say based on my real experience and I believe most of the gamers here also notice that. Never put your 360 inside the tight compartment as the heat will trap and it worsen the case where 360 already well known to be have a very poor heat solution design. 

You can feel and 'smell' a burning heat when you close to the 360 when you place your 360 at the tight compartment like that.

It's just my advise but you all feel free to put your 360 anywhere you like it. Just wanna share my knowledge that all
