I have my console on the PC table as well, using it with my 19" monitor. Desperately need a widescreen

He's using a Panasonic AE900 projector and B&W speakers

When you sit right up the table, do you find the size of the screen too big or just nice?

Get a PC that can receive multiple inputs or get KVM switch and a VGA cable for the console.

Typo... I meant monitor, not PC

His TV is in the living room and he's probably sitting 10' away while you're sitting just an arm's length away

ps360, how much did the monitor cost you and which shop did you got it from?

Yeah that's a PC. It's an SFF (small form factor) PC

Can get but if you want the top stuff, be prepared to pay around RM6-10k for a 32".

Have you tried both cables? I've read several threads at other forums, some say VGA better, some say component better

Refresh rate has nothing to do with your screen being dark

Try to adjust settings like brightness, contrast and color.

Increasing refresh rate reduces flickering. With low refresh rate, your eyes can detect the refresh rate, hence giving the preception that the screen is dim due to the slower refresh cycle when the screen goes dim, then bright, the dim again. When you increase the refresh rate, the cycle is too fast for the eye to detect, the image will look better to you so yes, it has nothing to do with increasing brightness, just shortening the period when the screen goes dim
