NZXT.
QUOTE

NZXT is a computer component manafacturer based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 2004 by Johnny Hou, they specialise in ATX midi tower and full tower cases, as well as accessories such as computer cooling and power systems. Whilst their products are designed in Los Angeles large-scale manufacturing takes place in plants in China and Taiwan.

The Phantom case is NZXT's most popular product. It has won over 40 awards and is a popular choice for high-end enthusiast computer builds. Also popular is the budget Source line of cases, which retail under $50. A common, unusual feature of the company's cases is the use of the inverted ATX standard throughout.
The name NZXT. is a corruption of the word "next" in uppercase.

TS, i suggest change title to a proper one. Do some research & add some intro bout NZXT branding. It's not only about casing, rite? NZXT got alot more different product. Refer to other "brand thread" as a sample. Good job anyway... thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

btw, thinking of having a photoshoot of my rig, once i got my hands on a camera. no fancy setup inside, just wanna experiment and improve on 'professional' rig photoshoot, like how APES and Cyntrix does, pretty cool eh.

you have those with blue leds? don't really know how to mod it themselves. cause after googling found out NZXT doesn't sell the stock fans that comes with my Phantom 410  sad.gif

btw, thinking of having a photoshoot of my rig, once i got my hands on a camera. no fancy setup inside, just wanna experiment and improve on 'professional' rig photoshoot, like how APES and Cyntrix does, pretty cool eh.

forgot to reply this sorry, my fans are 140mm non led white

i'd definitely go with intel, i've used amd processors before, never regretted switching to intel thumbup.gif
for the psu, 1250w is a bit overkill, can save a few bucks and get a 600-850w psu, more than enough to cf/sli

even with all those hdd/ssd i dont think it will consume a lot of power. but if u plan on building a crazy gaming rig running 2x7990 / 2x690, then u cant go wrong with 1000+w psu.
for the casing, the phantom 630 is a good case. i'm not a big fan of the side window though tongue.gif

lol, i have noob rig, still unfinished. bro infernoaswen 's switch 810 build is way more awesome than mine thumbup.gif

yup! Similar like urs but mine the sound only visible when set the fan to low speed or middle speed. Not sure what's wrong yet tho, will diagonise it after my finals. Maybe not enough power or something .

Mine is something like this. >>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJH1mSV3A-Q

NZXT Released Kraken G10 GPU Shroud for All In One WC solution! biggrin.gif
NZXT G10

Seems like quite okay but it cost $29.99 for just the shroud without the AIO WC. Priced at that I think coming to malaysia would be around RM120+? What you guys think?

but considered quite okay la for the price. If go for Custom WB for GPU mostly cost around RM300-400 just for the waterblock for GPU itself. Under custom wc, + the fittings, and extra tubes, would likely be almost the same(if the user already have a loop running in the first place). biggrin.gif

One problem with this case is the top 360mm. U won't be able to fit well the 360mm rad in there perfectly. Had to rip off my ODD cage. And for the bottom part, if wanna add another 240mm then u have to think where to put ur HDD doh.gif

I also now headache thinking wheter want get 2nd 360mm and put in front with slight mod or just throw 2nd rad on the bottom sad.gif But then the hard disk T__T Behind 2.5inch already mounted a SSD there so no more space for my storage soon sad.gif

One problem with this case is the top 360mm. U won't be able to fit well the 360mm rad in there perfectly. Had to rip off my ODD cage. And for the bottom part, if wanna add another 240mm then u have to think where to put ur HDD doh.gif

I also now headache thinking wheter want get 2nd 360mm and put in front with slight mod or just throw 2nd rad on the bottom sad.gif But then the hard disk T__T  Behind 2.5inch already mounted a SSD there so no more space for my storage soon sad.gif

very well done bro.

360mm cant fit well? I thinking wana WC my CPU only. Is that any option without ripping ODD apart?

wc for cpu only I guess 240mm should be more than enough biggrin.gif I'm using Swiftech MCR 320 QP about 8.3mm height only. Unless u put the port on the opposite side of mine. Then should be okay I guess biggrin.gif Positioning I guess. smile.gif
Remember get measurement first ya before u buy, I did a mistake buying a RX360 thick rad, can't fit in at all, had to resell it. doh.gif

Thx bro, good to know someone have the same case with me sharing the opinion for choosing rad, saves me from trouble. Actually i was eyeing for swiftech H320. Do you think it able to fit? Unless you have better idea to do custom WC fitting for this case.

seems like it should fit in well that rad with the fan along is just 54mm tall smile.gif Mine without fan is already 83mm. biggrin.gif Just that the ODD must be place on 2nd or 3rd tray ba smile.gif

Nope, its just cable extender that connects to your original cables. You can even custom make the whole cable from psu all the way to your hardwares like what I did with my build but that is more costly & more work since you need to follow the original 24pin layout etc. If extender cables then its standard, easier to make smile.gif

Yeah you can buy normal ready made ones like the nzxt kit

Custom made ones you can choose the type of colour you want to match your builds. All depends on what you like & your budget la lol.

yes..that will be my future mods...but currently i have a bit worry with my h440 case. The airflow did not good enough compare to cm storm scout2 (my previous case). My mobo temp is 40degC and cpu temp is 41degC at idle using h440 case. But, to compare with cm storm scout 2, my mobo temp is 35degC and cpu temp is 37degC at idle last time.
maybe the aiflow ristricted by the design opening of the h440 case..the case still new to mods... cry.gif

I would say this is give & take, what u gain is your rig will have less dust & hence always clean. Probably you might need high performance fan suck the air out from the case.

u know the mash under the clear panel, want to cut that out and put clear acrylics or same plastic material with upper panel.

Haha I tried finding one nearby also since I'm in Subang but couldn't find any, and he's the only modder I found. After seeing his samples I don't mind being unable to COD though that's also my most preferred method.

its really unfortunate for a lot of ppl too, since it is a really good AIO cooler. if u really wanted it u can buy from amazon but bear in mind the case compatibility, it is using 2x140mm sizing instead of the normal 2x120mm size.

D15 height is only 160mm so it will fit

but the problem is the fan, i can only mount one fan on the middle only

i cannot mount the fan on top of the ram as my ram heatspreader too tall push the height up..i also cannot mount another fan near the case exhaust fan as my motherboard I/O also push the fan high up

so it depends on your motherboard and ram

from my googling even be quiet dark rock pro 3 fits into S340

D15 is huge but it's very very easy to install..the mounting system is so well designed..but you want one of the best air cooler its gonna be huge hehe

even with single fan temp is still great on my oced 4790K, such big cooler wont have issue handling the heat

rear exhaust is not a problem, i even use my trusty 38mm panaflo fan as exhaust with mm clearance from the D15

in review they say the case is easy to scratch, even on my not so careful build process i didnt cause any unwanted scratch..it's not really that bad it seems

hahaha~ you are right, D15 is very one of the best air cooler, can find many reviews about this monster nod.gif

then it is a good news, if i wanna upgrade to D15 for better cooling, then don have to worry so much.

actually, i don really care about what others say about easy to scratch here scratch there, since after installation, i wont go and touch it everyday.. lol tongue.gif

again, thank you for sharing your experience with that S340 notworthy.gif

one more question , i am stuck in choosing what type of fan to put at the front (2 x 120mm)
is it better to put high static pressure fan or high CFM fan? thinking to buy noctua fan for that case

for the front fan if you just wana put fan there for airflow is better to buy fans with high cfm fan

i'm also researching what fan to put on the front..noctua redux looks kinda the good option but not cheap..silverstone air penetrator series another good option because its not that expensive but i dont like the colour haha

"like a black rose with all its beauty, one would be careful not to be prick by its hidden thorns."
thats my description for the NZXT S340. have no doubt that this is a beautiful casing for its price at rm259.
i obtain this just a few days ago from Ideal.

what i like...
1. beautiful glossy outlook, like a black monolith of awesomeness.
2. the internal matte black makes the inside looks very stealthily powerful black.
3 the front intake fan design is nicely done. two 140mm brings a lot of air in unimpeded. cooling is surpsingly very good for this casing.
4. good black theme on IO cables.
5. many place to tie cables and do a good cable management setup. also the bottom can hide all those extras is a good idea. will be even greater if individually sleeve cable is used. also good gap on the back of the motherboard panel to the side panel.
6. big space considering this casing doesn't look too big from outside.

what i don't like...
7. the top can actually have two 120mm/140mm slot if wanted.
8. the internal black matte scratches too easily and the paint chipped very easily as well. especially on screws area like for fans.
9. the HDD bay is a nightmare. non removable makes it hard for access, its even harder if you stuff the area full of cables. also the small area there, if removable, could have a 80mm fan install for even more inflow air.
10. open vertical hole near the PCI slots. i cannot understand why they leave it open like that.
11. slot in for the PSU. why can't they use a normal casing bracket.
12. really shitty PSU dust filter. feels like buying a magnetic silverstone dust filter and see if it works out.

i couldn't test how silent is this casing at the moment because for some unknown reason i plug in a 120mm fan to the CPU FAN header and it just goes to max, with or without load, even when the CPU temp is around 35 Celsius. going to change to another fan and try to determine what is the problem.

Phase 2:
while this casing is not design for sound in mind, it has many places which can put thin foam for a little bit of soundproofing without affecting the airflow. for example, like the top area, hdd area at the bottom, and side panel of both sides.

while next year with a little budget, going to go for cable sleeving for the 24pin cpu, 8pin cpu, 2 x 8pin for GPU, and sleeve molex extension.

also maybe considering trying to install a 80mm powerful fan at the HDD rack somehow and will only activate after a certain threshold temperature.

Update - 01.01.2015
after using the two fans provided by the casing for my H80 radiator cooler. the culprit was the Cosair fan that seem "kong". this casing is SILENT! which was a surprised as usually can hear my GTX590 like a jet engine. you can hear a small hum but barely audible. my Cosair H80 almost didn't fit with two 120mm attach front and back as one fan almost touches the part that attach to the CPU.

and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Where to get carbon fiber stickers?
Idealtech sells NZXT coolers, but they are the older versions.
If you want newer versions, you can get it from newegg. Bear in mind, dealing with the warranty is a pain in the arse.

Too bad then. Anyways, arcilic on my NZXT H440 have fine scratches upon removing the plastic protecting it. Damn it.
Also the black paint strip really easily.
Don't even think about my case's resale value, perhaps RM150 is the maximum. :/

i read that the new black/red is matte outside. based on my current pure black, the internal matte paint scratches very easily. i sure hope the new black/red matte is not the same.

but i do agree, the new black/red looks damn nice!

yup bro , u r right smile.gif , from what i experience, i think the nzxt fan is not doing well, very little air flow i can feel doh.gif sweat.gif

my temp is higher than my previous casing with the same OC setting and hardware.

i m gonna change the exhaust & rear fan, and see how the temp will become

thank you 4 ur thought notworthy.gif

looking for opinions, my current NZXT S340 cooling setup is:
Intake:
140mm x 2 (front)

Outlet:
120mm x 2 (in tandem with Cosair H80 Radiator)
GTX590 GPU Outlet

Current CPU Temp:
CPU1 : 60°C , 9%
CPU2 : 60°C , 66%

i am tempted to turn the top fan slot into a 140mm inlet, pushing the internal casing into strong positive air pressure though i am not sure how this will affect the temp and i worry that all the hot air casing will actually have to go through either the GPU or Cosair H80 as outlet. hmmmmm...

NZXT H440 User here biggrin.gif (Coming Soon)

I got some questions regarding this case :

1: On the top of the case can be fitted 3 Fans (120mm) . Which means i can Choose 2 x 120mm + Corsair H80i Setup or 1 x 120mm + Corsair H100i Setup is that correct?

2: Also what is the best suggestion for Airflow Ventilation ?

1. you mean by using 2 radiator for Corsair H801? i think u can, since the radiator have different measurement maybe put on the 3rd fan port.

2. i put the fan 1st, than radiator. the fan suck in air from outside into the radiator. im using seidon 240m btw

i think it is better to put h80i on the back exhaust fan.
airflow on top won't be so good because it is blocked and only small gap on the side.

Cool intake, maybe yes. But the exhaust opening on top is so small making air flow not very good.
Well you can try different configuration and see the difference.

I'm building a pc around H440 black/white atm. Any recommendation for a 140 fan that suit the theme or maybe with a white led?

Will be using stock 140 fan at the top so gonna need 1 more at the top.

Phantom 410 looks sick. Too bad the shop where I went to build my rig ran out of stock for it, so I went for phanteks instead. Not fanciful as phantom, but it gets the job done

Hi all NZXT users, anyone is using NZXT Manta but modded to fit mATX motherboard?

If not, where/who can I find to mod it (cheap charges please)?

Inspired by NZXT MANTA MATX MOD

However, I will be using Air cooling rather than watercooling, so that are needed only:

1) cut out the side panel & replace Acrylic for mATX; and

2) cut out the back panel & extend it with aluminium for PSU (to avoid disrupting the mATX motherboard)

Do you all think workable?
