D15 is huge but it's very very easy to install..the mounting system is so well designed..but you want one of the best air cooler its gonna be huge hehe

even with single fan temp is still great on my oced 4790K, such big cooler wont have issue handling the heat

rear exhaust is not a problem, i even use my trusty 38mm panaflo fan as exhaust with mm clearance from the D15

in review they say the case is easy to scratch, even on my not so careful build process i didnt cause any unwanted scratch..it's not really that bad it seems
*
hahaha~ you are right, D15 is very one of the best air cooler, can find many reviews about this monster nod.gif

then it is a good news, if i wanna upgrade to D15 for better cooling, then don have to worry so much.

actually, i don really care about what others say about easy to scratch here scratch there, since after installation, i wont go and touch it everyday.. lol tongue.gif

again, thank you for sharing your experience with that S340 notworthy.gif

one more question , i am stuck in choosing what type of fan to put at the front (2 x 120mm)
is it better to put high static pressure fan or high CFM fan? thinking to buy noctua fan for that case

for the front fan if you just wana put fan there for airflow is better to buy fans with high cfm fan

i'm also researching what fan to put on the front..noctua redux looks kinda the good option but not cheap..silverstone air penetrator series another good option because its not that expensive but i dont like the colour haha

"like a black rose with all its beauty, one would be careful not to be prick by its hidden thorns."
thats my description for the NZXT S340. have no doubt that this is a beautiful casing for its price at rm259.
i obtain this just a few days ago from Ideal.

what i like...
1. beautiful glossy outlook, like a black monolith of awesomeness.
2. the internal matte black makes the inside looks very stealthily powerful black.
3 the front intake fan design is nicely done. two 140mm brings a lot of air in unimpeded. cooling is surpsingly very good for this casing.
4. good black theme on IO cables.
5. many place to tie cables and do a good cable management setup. also the bottom can hide all those extras is a good idea. will be even greater if individually sleeve cable is used. also good gap on the back of the motherboard panel to the side panel.
6. big space considering this casing doesn't look too big from outside.

what i don't like...
7. the top can actually have two 120mm/140mm slot if wanted.
8. the internal black matte scratches too easily and the paint chipped very easily as well. especially on screws area like for fans.
9. the HDD bay is a nightmare. non removable makes it hard for access, its even harder if you stuff the area full of cables. also the small area there, if removable, could have a 80mm fan install for even more inflow air.
10. open vertical hole near the PCI slots. i cannot understand why they leave it open like that.
11. slot in for the PSU. why can't they use a normal casing bracket.
12. really shitty PSU dust filter. feels like buying a magnetic silverstone dust filter and see if it works out.

i couldn't test how silent is this casing at the moment because for some unknown reason i plug in a 120mm fan to the CPU FAN header and it just goes to max, with or without load, even when the CPU temp is around 35 Celsius. going to change to another fan and try to determine what is the problem.

Phase 2:
while this casing is not design for sound in mind, it has many places which can put thin foam for a little bit of soundproofing without affecting the airflow. for example, like the top area, hdd area at the bottom, and side panel of both sides.

while next year with a little budget, going to go for cable sleeving for the 24pin cpu, 8pin cpu, 2 x 8pin for GPU, and sleeve molex extension.

also maybe considering trying to install a 80mm powerful fan at the HDD rack somehow and will only activate after a certain threshold temperature.

Update - 01.01.2015
after using the two fans provided by the casing for my H80 radiator cooler. the culprit was the Cosair fan that seem "kong". this casing is SILENT! which was a surprised as usually can hear my GTX590 like a jet engine. you can hear a small hum but barely audible. my Cosair H80 almost didn't fit with two 120mm attach front and back as one fan almost touches the part that attach to the CPU.

and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

for those interested in NZXT S340, i found this person doing mod on it. he also did some sound dampening on it as well. which were pretty awesome. gives me a good idea on the PSU hole cover as well.

The S340 is nice but also very cramped. biggrin.gif Took me a bit of effort to mount the motherboard back in after it was removed recently.

Where to get carbon fiber stickers?
Idealtech sells NZXT coolers, but they are the older versions.
If you want newer versions, you can get it from newegg. Bear in mind, dealing with the warranty is a pain in the arse.

Too bad then. Anyways, arcilic on my NZXT H440 have fine scratches upon removing the plastic protecting it. Damn it.
Also the black paint strip really easily.
Don't even think about my case's resale value, perhaps RM150 is the maximum. :/
