I saw in the thread that they split. Sorry about that.

I hold quite a large portion of cash in ASM/ASB/Wawasan. To me they are more like FD to me. I will never withdraw them. UT will still sell. Reason why I have a large portion of them is back then govt keep offering. Not anymore.
*
Your holding in ASM/ASB/Wawasan != cash, cash equivalent or cash redeemable. You need duration to sell them off. They're still UT even though backed by government.

Cash is thing that you can liquid as fast as possible. You can liquid FD immediately by forgoing the interest and pay the early withdrawal penalty (if any).

Is 5% a lot for you? I thought of selling one of my fund if drop a bit more than 5%. But I was thinking if other fund profit can cover the loss, should I even think of selling it off.

if for me, thinking of sell switch 2/5 off my EM Bond to CMF, left the remaining in autopilot mode.... let it generate the income from accumulated distribution...  currently this bond consist 20% of my overall portfolio...

any opinion?
*
Not a lot of but it's my stop loss point:

-5% from average unit cost for bond/FEIT fund
-10% from average unit cost for equity fund

I don't want to end up like another PCSF case.

IMHO, it's part of portfolio management and asset allocation.

Do you see any chance this fund to be bounce back me lostt of -32% still holding.
*
Nope. Even my PFES hasn't reach its IPO NAV.

My time of reference was last year. I switched out last year. I also advised my friend to do the same thing.

I switched in to an aggressive local based fund and it made a decent recent before general election whereby I sold it off due to election fear. However, the return still can't fully cover the loss in PCSF.

Too Bad

As of last Thursday, its NAV is at 0.1573

It needs to work extremely hard to reach back to its IPO NAV.

Even PFES that invests in Greater China region and/or North Asian also struggles at 0.2281

PFES used to have a remarkable performance.

Asian currencies to remain resilient despite global slowdown

A report by Schroders said it remains constructive on most Asian currencies despite the negative impact of the Japanese yen.

Should I sell off all my holdings, realize profit and go shopping. Or maintain and go shopping. If go shopping, at least I still can realize some gain right?  hmm.gif

You can realize some gain and use it to buy to other funds.

I'm aiming for Hwang Asia Quantum and Hwang Select Opportunity.

I didn't recommend for selling.

What I meant is to perform buying new fund for portfolio rebalancing or topping up existing funds on your portfolio.

Selling is mainly my personal goal.
