I'll wait to see if it can break RM4, and then proceed further. Will hold for div, my target exit is after RM4. If can break, I will see if it can touch RM5, if very hard to break RM4.xx, then will consider exiting 50% and keep the remaining till it flies.

My last stop for Ping Pong is still way below 2.20. Bought first batch last year below RM2, specifically around 1.8x range, if my memory serves me right. Never really get the accurate buy price due to my buy price always include overhead cost.

Unfortunately, I only have about RM10K investment in this counter. Due to low liquidity, I feel it can only be treated as dividend counter, at least to me, and I couldn't bother to check the price previously, until when it start to break 3.5x range recently.

RM1K+ bcos I wanted to buy 3 lots, but only managed to match 1 lot during Trading At Last. Itu Carlsberg laugh.gif doh.gif

I think I was a bit lucky as after I bought my first batch, the price start to move a bit, then I got extra money and went in for final batch, and then suddenly price spike to 2.50 and move on after that, thus I don't think it's wise for me to top up anymore as my target dividend for this counter is just 18c.

Yes, current yield is only 4%+ at best, but their payout ratio is a lot lower than HUPSENG's. Got room for more

Comparison of Apollo vs Hupseng. AS of last year, Apollo has RM0.73 cash per share vs Hupseng of RM0.60 cash per share. Apollo might have EPS of 42c vs Hupseng of 30c. Maybe it's time to buy in Apollo?

Locking up my profit, moving to another stock which could also yield 5%+ with much smaller payout ratio, means room for special divvy.

I disposed (part) of my Ping Pong at 5.26
I THINK divvy per year would be 15 sen x 2
30 sen / 5.26 = 5.7%
And divvy payout ratio is about 98% if I'm not mistaken...growth of Ping Pong is only about 6-8% p.a. compounded I think. Further dividend growth limited? hmm.gif

60%++ paper gain...it somehow spooks me sweat.gif

Since I find alternatives to further diversify my portfolio, I chose to pull the trigger oops I mean click the "SELL" button blush.gif

If the stock fundamentals is still good why sell... unless you think the profits is reducing or the stock over value, then it is good to sell.

In stock investing it is better you aim for 'baggers' typically 10 baggers.... each bagger is a 100% gain.

Think big! laugh.gif

Unker u said before mar, if found another stock with better yield, can switch out mar unsure.gif

Ping Pong yield is based on almost 100% payout ratio

The alternative I found is on 80%...got room for special divvy and/or more divvy hmm.gif

It behaves somewhat like a REIT lor...regular divvy, committed payout of min. 80%...

Growth? Stagnant to minimal lor...

Growth? Stagnant to a bit lor...

Magnum...! Hahah I am also looking at it previously.. laugh.gif looks interesting about 4.5% divvy but special dividend chance extremely slim tongue.gif

Their dividend policy is 80%-85% of net earnings.

TTM earnings is 18.6 cents, current price is 3.24

Dividend = 18.6 x 0.85 = 15.81 cents

15.81/324 x100= 4.87%

Previous divvy payment...
Dividend 2013 = 15 cents
Dividend 2012 = 16 cents
Dividend 2011 = 15 cents

P/S Magnum don't pay all 4 Quarters 1... they do skip a Q here and there

Unless you get extra special 5c divvy then will be higher for this year. wink.gif

Tonight go do an in-depth look into its financials and past dividends...

Wait, they've just divested their non-core stuff, only recently became a focused gambling unit. Past cannot be relied on doh.gif

Should be

A x 5 / 3 x 4

A being your current no. of shares.

E.g.
Now holding 600 shares
No. of shares u will hold after the exercise would be
600 x 5 / 3 x 4 = 4,000

There are 2 parts to the proposed exercise.

(1) Division of 50 sen shares into 5 x 10 sen shares
(2) Bonus issue of 1 new share for every 3 (new shares) u hold

So,

(1) 600 becomes 3,000 by split
(2) 3,000 becomes 4,000 by adding 1,000 bonus shares (A/3*4)

Just basic maths, bro biggrin.gif

Btw even after yesterday's mega rally, yield STILL decent. hmm.gif

That makes sense. I keep thinking how come the 4 is there. Well, I think I don't have to monitor this stocks liao since at the current price I'm 200% paper gain, so after all those divide and conquer thing, I think it will make mine about 50% paper loss, should I not change the initial investment value + update the new units. I think this is the only stock that give bonus this year for me doh.gif

My guess is, there is limited upside, although I personally prefer to sell all at RM8, but I don't think achievable. Enter at 6.88 kinda high though to me.

Assume 30 sen dividend

U work backwards, how much dividend yield is reasonable to u.

Assuming u want 5% yield...

RM0.30 / 0.05 = RM6.00

Let say there is 5% meaning to say i should enter in RM 6? shakehead.gif

Dividend received = if buy 1000unit x RM6.00 x dividend yield 5% = RM 300 <----- dividend received per year?? laugh.gif

What u mean "how"? blink.gif

I sold another batch of Ping Pong, left only 1/3 of my initial purchase which is now valued at my initial cost...all profits taken off the table.

Based on dividend yield (4%) and P/E (20+) it's no longer attractive to me.

I don't think it's worth selling partially, unless you have a lot. Anyway, the best is sell until you have multiple of 3, so that you don't end up with odd lots.

I'm thinking of selling partially as well to make it the multiple of 3. But if I want to sell until my cost, it will be selling almost everything.

Do whatever u like, but bear in mind what I figured out...it's trading at 20+ P/E with DY of 4.3% at best wink.gif

If keep purely for dividends u may ignore the above...but I figured out that there are better alternatives out there...hence I dumped most of my holding.

Hup Seng Q4 earnings up 10.9% to RM9.35mil

F&B manufacturer Hup Seng Industries Bhd saw its earnings improved 10.9% year-on-year to RM9.35mil from RM8.43mil in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, as revenue climbed 5.6% from to RM66.7mil from RM63.1mil.

Profit before tax climbed 13.6% to RM12.7mil from RM11.3mil in the corresponding quarter a year earlier, and earnings per share went up to 7.79 sen from 7.03 sen previously.

The board of directors is recommending a dividend of 8 sen, as opposed to 18 sen previously, with the entitlement date to be announced later.

Earnings for the full year were RM36.7mil, a 12.9% improvement from the RM32.5mil of the previous year. This was on a very slender revenue rise of 1.4% to RM251.4mil from RM247.8mil before.

Hup Seng attributed its revenue growth in the last quarter to stronger market demand for its biscuits.

The company noted that profit before tax for the full year had improved strongly to RM50.1mil from RM44.3mil a year ago, pointing out that favourable input cost trends together with higher sales had resulted in a higher gross profit margin.
