Devil kernel's dual boot reminds me of my S2/S3 days on Siyah.

How's Devil kernel's battery life as compared to perseus on stock based (specifically Wanamlite) ROMs?
*
Devil dual boot is based on siyah so its similar in implementation. Battery life for me is acceptable. Best you try it out yourself.

actually,

coming from using AOSP Sentinel 4.5 over a few days and also with some tweaks to the UV, screens, limiting of proc and what nots... i come to love AOSP more than ever

1. Snote = i'm using papyrus. not bad. not as good but not bad. enables pen writing and finger eraser
2. Sgimmicks = don't use them (s alert, s awake, s hole)
3. battery sucking = i agree to this. however, i limit my proc to 1.2GHz (same as power saving in TW), UV every step by 2 points using trickster mod, and that's it. greenify is running as per normal. battery is worse off than TW but then, its not too bad a trade off i think.
4. with devil, i have all the mdnie settings and charger controls too
*
Yes yes once we tweak for battery saving aosp is a very good Rom. Though I dun need to UC but can get 5-6 hrs sot every day.

I think it's mainly due to the processor steps. The default ones shoot up straight whenever there's any activity.

i agree.. any small problem, it will go max freq...

sklchan taikor boss sifu, any ways to tweak this using trickster mod?

a slower step by step instead of a rush towards rushmoremountain? rclxms.gif
*
Shoot up straight good lar for responsive. But it won't stay there. My 1.6ghz is use less than 800mhz. It's normal.

Ok lar. The problem it's not that it shoot up fast. what is important is that it can drop down fast.

Any idea if this is really happening ? or just BS from tech support from Samsung service centre ?

I also have the insane chip. Like ant00 mentioned some custom roms & kernels can fix SDS.  rclxms.gif
*
Erm. Actually i said its ASSUMED to prevent SDS. The only cure AFAIK is to change the mainboard to a newer version. Anyhow there is no guarantee.

Ok, so, since there are proposals to have it in SS14 Subang, anyone wants this weekend Sat 01 Jun? Lunch?

ROI time.

Registration of Interest.
We should also hold a HALAL session after this for everyone or those who don't fancy BKT.

I am tied up this weekend. sad.gif

Anyone tried this?

How to boot your Android phone or tablet into safe mode for troubleshooting
http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/beginner...ng/#more-163649

I tried to long tap the Power option but it doesn't work.

I recall seeing some ROMs they have a "Hot Reboot" option, is that similar?
*
Hotboot is totally different. I think to get into safe mode you need to continuously tap quickly the menu button while the phone is booting.

Dear doctor what is hotboot?
*
Its just a faster way of rebooting. The OS is not shutdown all the way prior to booting. Something like just clearing all the memory.

Damn checked the Download mode everything is official using the signed kernel and TA XDA 2.90. This means I now have the new bootloader. Well... in the process I paid for both TA pro 2.90 and Mobile Odin Pro 3.65. tongue.gif

The Allshare S/W Update keeps getting an FC. I think I'll just forget the Allshare and enjoy my ROM flashing. Phoenix feels pretty nifty.

Performing a restore of the nandroid now and will see what to flash next.

Sentinel. Less than 5mins to download.

Some tweaking done by antt00?
The last time I tried sentinel rom, couldn't last me even a day with 2 hrs SOT
*
Yes i have done tweaking. I recommend changing the auto brightness curve. I find aosp default brightness is higher than stock rom thus draining the battery faster.

Factory reset should be user data and apps installed will be wipe right? All files in internal sdcard should be intact. But when I restored my nandroid backup, I can find back all my files and the new /0 directory made by sentinel rom in the internal sdcard.

Try checking inside /data/media/0
