Dear fellow forumers.

My Perodua Kelisa aircond failed recently, only hot air comes out of the aircond.

Sent to workshop, they say must change compressor.

They said compressor is RM200 only, but cannot change compressor alone, as other parts are faulty as well.

Those other parts are condensers and other pipings, total up to RM1,200.

I would like to know, does this RM1,200 for aircond repair make any sense?

Depending on the parts n how many parts....but typically when aircond goes kaput, prepare abt rm1k +/- to get it fixed...

I myself just spent 1.1k on my kenaris aircond....compressor + cooling coil + misc.

Ex-kelisa also the same....cost me 1k+

Just make sure to get the same compressor...ie oem...recond...anything else ur engine will be very heavy when ac is turned on

air con compressor = RM200 ?

recond or 2nd hand ?

if have budget . go for ori and new part . dont go for recond .
recond set wont last long . all is depends on luck .

yes, i also forgot what i have changed 2 months ago. i think i changed compressor and condensor (a thicker one) and cleaned the connecting hose to the condensor. now the air con is acceptably cold.

I very recently had this problem with my 12 yr iswara. Check your aircond fan, most likely the issue has got to be this.

You can get it changed for abt 100++, or get genuine for ard RM200 only.

Hope this helps

How can we advice when not only did we not hear the sound, but you yourself also are not sure where the noise is coming from? It could be the belt or compressor.

My kelisa air-cond also very noisy. Sometime ok, but sometimes not. Let say if i hit the bump on the road or something, the aircond will start to make noise. Need to turn off the aircond first, then turn it back on, only then the noise will be gone. But the noise will come again when i drive past uneven road. Advise me please.

im sure its the compressor..because when i open the aircond, the noise is very loud...but when i closed the aircond, the noise is completely gone, but im not sure either the compressor is damage or the belting is not properly adjusted,

1k to 1.2k for major aircond recondition is acceptable..
but does it really need to that recondition?
kelisa is not that old car which need to recondition?

rm200 is a recond unit. that is purely luck to get good one...so...if you ok with the price, go ahead. new unit is at rm600 range.

piping no need change la. if really change piping, means they downgrade or upgrade your air cond compressor edi. if downgrade, they earn more, if upgrade, you loss power.

condenser mayb need, if have leaking. when i had my kelisa, the condenser is leaking, i still use it. 9months fill in gas 1 time, i still can accept it.

the filter, located at the front, need to dismantle bumper to access. that one need abit work.

other than that, no need change one la. i would say about 800-1000 shud get it done. using re-cond compressor.

why not survey few more shops? look for shops with lots of car and got old old people inside. they more reasonable.

if you know how to differentiate loose air cond belt sound, then it would be easier. if not, at cold start up, rev your engine, if you hear sharp screething sound, then its a loose belt.

if not loose belt problem, better bare with it bcos air cond service expensive.

its nearing to the end of life, but as long as no oil leaks from the compressor, and still cold, use first lo.
