nope.. doubt it will drop any further unless msia gets another rating downgrade...

well, cash market among all the changers are bad.. d best is RP through remittance at 2.518 only...

at midvalley still can get 2.52 cash, but risk being rob  unsure.gif

forgot about the other factors doh.gif thanks! notworthy.gif

QUOTE(wlcling @ Aug 1 2013, 10:00 PM)
yah, most of us i believe have impression that sg very safe, but all i can say is i got conned by similar case before (L-shaped studio HDB apartment). Agent said it's legal, owner said they own it - but all that is just talk only.

End of it, lost a few k's, spent time having a disappointing experience with police & CASE ping-ponging the case to each other, and got nothing back, so caveat la.
*
it is safe but low crime doesn't mean no crime. need to practice prudence and be wary no matter where you are wink.gif

Where you go ? so cheap $20 with shot summore.

One drink in each pub around $10+ already, 4 = $40++, Normally in one pub with a few round of drinks (or jug), already spend around $50+ lioa.

search facebook for Singapore Pub Crawl group.

every Friday to Sunday at the fat pigeon statue at Raffles Place (7.30pm) thumbup.gif

Hi guys, i am not sure if this is the right place to ask

i am staying in tampines and would like to go to east coast park, what will be the easiest and cheapest way?

My thought is MRT from Tampines -> Eunos, then take cab from Eunos MRT exchange to East Coast

Any other better option?
*
i'm staying at Tampines too. easiest way is to just take bus 10 and alight near Bayshore stop (Opp Evergreen Ave) and just walk according to road signs. Will get to an underpass then reach East Coast Park liao. nonit so troublesome

i beg to differ. My employment starts on the first and i only have 2 weeks left to go. And most cheap rooms around 500$ are snapped out within days. My plan now is to arrange multiple viewings on the day itself, arrive very early morning and depart at midnight. The 1 day time window should be enough i guess. I dont have to carry luggage for now because, my company will be sponsoring my flight the day before employment starts. Arrive last minute and backpack with thousands of dollars in my pocket is a nono regardless how good the security is. And too bad i have no friend here.
*
you do know that most room viewings are only after the landlord/landlady finish work right? not all available for viewing anytime sweat.gif

i used 3 days to finally get a room. set up some appointments but got last minute cancellations

thats wat i thought also.. or ill just go on sat sun.. or maybe i will just backpack for 1-2 nights in case for these scenarios lol. But feel kinda unsafe since i will be bringing deposit money as well.. If really no choice then hotel only.
*
best option would be to backpack/stay there a few nights and view as many as you can. sure got a few totally rejected and ffks/last minute changes

QUOTE(jasonkwk @ Aug 16 2013, 10:46 AM)
there is some exception of course, eg. if the houseowner is retired couple, I can view the house in the afternoon before I fly back at night. smile.gif
*
of course there are exceptions, but how many of those are there? it's a very big gamble unless you already contacted beforehand. even so, there might be last minute changes to their plan

Hi guys, is buying luggage in
Jb more cheaper then buying in Sg? Thinking of buying American tourister or samsonite. If the difference of price is huge, then it might be worthy for me to drag the luggage across kastam.
*
i bought an american tourister. price wise malaysia is cheaper. but i found Changi City Point to be about the same price as MYR even after conversion.

whichever is more convenient for you

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Aug 24 2013, 08:38 AM)
everyone can stay in JB. It all depends on how much you are willing to sacrifice to enjoy the 2.5x conversion.
I am working in Tampines (even further than Ubi) and I stay in JB. Does that answer your question?
*
holy.... you ride a bike/drive a car? i can't imagine going through the traffic then taking 168/969 to get to Tampines sweat.gif

Mustafa sell quite a variety of luggage. For AT, price wise but imo most is old stock and got scratch. I will drop by IMM later to check out the samsonite outlet. Thanks for replying.
*
Changi City Point has old stock that they sell at cheaper price but still brand new compared to mustafa but is much more of a hassle if you're around Jurong sweat.gif

I ride bike. From causeway to tampines only takes me 30 mins if i ride slowly. if vroom vroom 20 mins can reach.
anyway its not that bad. I believe I leave my home almost the same time like my colleague that goes to work from Woodlands taking bus.
*
that's not too bad cos you have your own transport. i have a friend working in MBS with a bike so it's okay for him as well.

another goes to work at CBD via bus and wakes up about 4-5am every day sweat.gif

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Aug 24 2013, 11:26 AM)
that would take 2 hours the very minimum
*
that was why i asked laugh.gif i wouldn't be able to stand it every day

if i'm not wrong, you have to fork it out first then claim it back later - which could potentially take months

Are your aunties in KL/PJ or are they in SG? If they are not in SG then I'd take their words with a pinch of "grass is always greener" talk. Coming to SG now isn't all a bed of roses. MRT is over capacity and so rush hour commute is a b****. Basic 1.5 car costs $110k and needs $45k downpayment; HDB you can't even buy until 3 years PR and even then it's $150k downpayment.
*
mind showing the calculations for $150k downpayment? notworthy.gif

20% d/p out of which 15% can be taken from CPF. In my case ABSD was paid by the bank. I didn't have to come out cash for the ABSD. COV mine was 35k..but 80% move in condition....just repainting n some minor repairs.
3-room at B Batok...SGD345k....cash needed was less than 90k.....
*
you negotiated with the bank for ABSD? hmm.gif

There's no 2 room HDB resale...u have to go private for a 2 room aka...1 living room n 1 bedroom

really? i just saw 2 bedrooms for resale at Sengkang though hmm.gif
