Does dorm mean bedspace?

What will be the normal price for economy rice with 2 meats + 1 vege or 2 vege + 1 meat?

I think he is very filial piety
*
they give permanent space, unit of 8 or 12... like those staying in smrt's dorm... with own locker n all, common bathing space la..

2 meat + 1 vege = $4
2 veg + 1 meat = $3-3.5

I don't know where you are getting to in guiding young couples to start a family in Singapore. Throwing in an X6 with a S$1.6Mil condo example; is analogous to killing the self-esteem of a guy struggling to decide a S$1.7k flat monthly pay.

85 to 90% of locals stay in Public Housing in Singapore and only the 60th decile and above owns a car. For all the intents and purposes of your post, it just suggests that you will either struggle to start a family young, or you just die trying. Extrapolating your "guide" attest to this.
*
yea.. when ppl not as elite as her, she call ppl troll... typical stuck-up singkie... dont know that the lower 90% aint doing so well... to some singkies, are those at mbs, tj pagar, orchard all day... not knowing there's the 90% working behind d scenes trying to make a living and raise a family.. or some FT trying to save more and send $$$ back to aging parents or to fund sibling's education so they wont have to go through the same ordeal

life is tough cry.gif and u just wanna share, ppl call u troll doh.gif haih.. no point ranting, life goes on...

Any sober mind formers here also can do the calculation n many don't even need to think further. Even buy a Toyota vids also think 3 - 4 times.

When she taruh a 1.6 mil condo. It is still understandable, but putting in the close to half a mil x6, I don't see any logic there except to show off or troll

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Sep 30 2013, 12:30 AM)
I am trying to give some figure for starting a family in SG, just like the listed living cost in the 1st page which is more to a single person. You can take the car out, but at least must have a roof over the family.

When foreigner come here they not local so HDB out straight away. Would take sometime to get PR. Some family cannot buy a HDB even after they become PR. New PRs - wait three years, only one PR other half home maker, dependent PR - like not eligible - this one I not sure, have properties overseas.

The smallest 2 bedroom condo 800-900 sq ft also cross the 1 mil mark already.

Personally I think car is a necessity when you have a family, especially with young kids. Not to bring out the X6, main point its the 50% down payment. MY 10% down payment, opt for Perodua if starting out, few k can get you a car. SG 50%, with COE its min 50-60k to come out with a car.
*
now u had clarified it sounds legit... hmm.gif life is tough for singkie also, is that why reproduction rate goes down?

anyway, i think if u cant buy, can also rent hdb lor.. or if u r working at the west, can stay in jhr and drive msian car in...

why u dont believe in dorms? it is pretty decent... just that ppl from certain countries bring their filthy way of living that ruins dorm living... example; where d hell ppl cook in their bedroom 1, dapao food la... doh.gif

if u live neatly and in a hygienic manner, it is livable.. here're some info to share for those whose pocket is tight; *did u know 800k workers live in sg dorms our of 1.3 mill FTs?

Use the autogate for MY-SIN and SIN-MY. Reprint it online or go down to ICA for another one.

In one of my family trip, brother was stopped by the immigration office during entry to Swiss, asking for the REP because we departed from Changi but no departure chop.

Another trip back from China, BF stopped by the departure immigration office asking for the REP.

Both cases end up with a lot of hassle explaining and phone calls but still got through in the end. Guys! mad.gif  mad.gif  mad.gif

‘Johor Beng’ takes on the Middle East

HE WAS a teen gang member who beat people up for sport. He once spent a night in jail for car racing. And on weekends, he downed Ecstasy pills for kicks.

When he arrived in Singapore from Malacca at the age of 19, Mr Vincent Lai couldn't string together a sentence in English. When he couldn't pay his rent and was evicted, he slept for weeks in a corner of the computer room at Singapore Management University, where he was studying.

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Oct 16 2013, 12:35 PM)
Depend on the type of work you do, you may be required to work at odd hours, midnight, early morning so you can have an online meeting with your colleague overseas. Don't worry about their sleep and life, its always you staying up for the online meeting. And your local boss expect you to come to work at 9am the following day to have a meeting about your meeting yesterday night. Working hour is long, very long but I think you will do ok coming from engineering, 24 hour contactable, forget about movies, concerts and gatherings.

Boss comment on the brand of your dress, bags, the car you driving, even the place you stay so to paint a picture to outsiders they are doing very well to attract more talented people into the industry and also to their clients.

These are what I gathered from my coursemates who worked at ang moh investment banks, one of which one of my very good friend from uni so I don't think she is hiding or boasting anything. Went for one US IB before graduate just to see what they will be offering and partly due to peer pressure but never take up the offer, but still end up working in bank sweat.gif . Bankers look good if you look at the money side. I don't get satisfaction doing my work, its feel like only helping the rich getting richer. Want to do something more meaningful like doctor, dentist or engineer, maybe nurse too wub.gif helping those who really needed it.
*
dont worry, u can also do something meaningful with your money... donate to impian sarawak thumbup.gif no money also nvm, they accept condos too brows.gif
