A lawyer's dog ran into neighbour's restaurant and picked up a piece of meat from the kitchen.

The incensed neighbour called up the lawyer, "Your dog stole a piece of meat from my kitchen. Would you be liable for the cost of the meat?"

The lawyer replied, "Of course, how much was that?"

"Eight dollars."

A few days later, the neighbour received a cheque for $8.00, with an attached invoice which read: Legal Consultation Service: $150.
