huhuhu, actually this thread almost the same like "ZTE Modem Mod, Really NTBD mod." from ianho and "modem box, no work log, just pics to show" from exkay..... sweat.gif
the different is the way to cool ur modem hehhehe rclxms.gif by using 60mm fan
just wanna share my idea to all ZTE user how to cool down ur modem biggrin.gif

all that i've do in 1 hour..... sweat.gif
actually not complete coz dont have complete tools....
wanna change all 4 long screw blush.gif and adjust the round side .....
and maybe wanna fix with air filter to make it nice.....
one thing that i worry about is dust that come in..... sweat.gif
so do u guys think i should blow or suck the air....??? unsure.gif

It's more nice if put some ramsink on top chipset and blow it. Btw, where u connect fan power DC? tongue.gif

cant put ramsink coz the space only fan fix the fan..... sweat.gif
for power i connect with 2 x 3pin extension cable to fan controller biggrin.gif

not sure about this question...

wll it void my tmnet warranty ??

i mean my modem is covered by tmnet, if i mod using a passive heatsink, will it void the warranty ?

hehe....

just come back from hardware shop......
bought aluminium net to cover the top..... biggrin.gif
and also some short screw n nut..... biggrin.gif
so this what i've done.....

NIce there but have u though that the dusk with be accumulating inside the modem and may i mean may causes static inteference as dusk become more... shocking.gif

i wanted cool off the modem as well but cant see much alternative besides ur way there... others even create a new box for it which is time consuming and a bit dangerous >_<.

Im gonna take all the risk and mod a brand new modem..since my modem always die 1 month or so after the waranty...gotta go to lowyat to hunt for the modem....heatsink...fan....and thermal compound.

Any way to mod the fan without using external/additional power supply. I don't think Ramsinks work. My Aztech modem is so hot that I placed it vertically. Opening the unit does not help. There is a 2cm heat radiation from the modem. This is also my fault since I used the old aztech modem adapter on the new unit (I thought it was the same) since the modem is the same, but the new one requires less voltage. I successfully pumped in additional power and when I revert to the old modem, the modem is too weak to be used- so now staying with the old adapter and new modem.
