Hi guys, I have known this awesome girl for nearly four years, and recently we started dating each other. We give each other plenty of space (I see her maybe twice a week?), and when we are together, its really magical. She never lets me get her anything, apparently she doesnt want me to spend big bucks on her, and thats kinda frustrating cause she can when it comes to buying stuff for me. But i decided I'll just ignore her pleads this time and get her something really nice. Which is better for a necklace? Swarvoski or Pandora? My budget is somewhere around RM500 Thanks for all the suggestions. Love you guys.

Love you guys. get a Tiffany and Co key ring. there's one RM 460+ not more than RM 500. better than swarovski or pandora that later on change colour.

Buy something nice from Swarovski... maybe a heart pendant/chain or earring or bracelet. Pandora is overrated. Tiffany is too mainstream and more pricey as well which means you can only get lower end stuff.

Tiffany & Co designs are kinda plain...for the amount of money one would pay for. Pandora is really really common, and here in penang i see couples giving each other Pandora all the time. Swarovski on the other hand, sounds cool.

Tiffany & Co bit overpriced cause of the brand. Pandora - I reckon their charm bracelets are nice but those things need a long term relationship to build up a nice bracelet. And I think they're also generally overpriced. Swarovski has nice classic designs that I don't think any girl would dislike.

Nice bro. My girl also has something like that (unknown brand though). She never takes it off. I actually like this one: http://www.swarovski.com/Web_AA/en/1169479...ne_Pendant.html. I think it's got a good casual look about it. Can be worn on most days so more bang for your buck =) Sorry to hijack, but do you know where'd be good to get a pearl necklace, and what a suitable budget should be?

Hahah. sorry but im really shit when it comes to this kinda things. All i know is the budget should always be within your spending capacity, cause the last thing you would want is yourself eating maggi mee everyday

No worries, I'm not good with these things either. Thanks for trying.
Good point from bellz about Pandora being the more popular one now. I think on overall their designs have a "cute" theme to them. Have a look, your girl might like it since you were thinking about the heart shaped Swarovski anyway. They also have regular necklaces and whatnots.
I think Pandora's just a trending brand at the moment.. with charm bracelets being all the rage. I also think it's overpriced because it's popular with crowds. Swarovski is indeed a little left behind from being an "old" name, but I think I like their offers more. A little shinier and more elegant. To each their own though. No harm checking it out
Bear in mind a charm bracelet would be the start of a meaningful, long term, expensive bracelet =) 1 charm alone like RM300 ish.

I guess she suits elegance more, therefore I would prefer if I were to find something that comes along as unique. I'm planning on getting the necklace tmrw, Im thinking something classy and not too bulky in size (small and elegant would do the trick). Not too bling bling though.

How many comments are there about Tiffany being plain which are from guys? If you hear from ladies point of view, Tiffany is a brand where they will feel proud if someone ask them where the necklace is from. Girls would rather hear it's from Tiffany then from Swarovski. They aren't materialistic, it's just that the branding power is that great.
For example, ask a girl if they want a 1 carat from Selberan or a 0.7 carat from Tiffany, which assuming they are of similar value. Of course some girls don't care. But to many, deep down, they have a preferred brand. Big isn't always better as the saying goes.
Anyway, TS, you know her best. If your options are only those 2, I'd go for Swarovski.

I reckon let her open and see it herself, let her OMG a while. then as smooth as jazz you flash her a smile and say "I think it would look good on me". Then you wear it. Let her stop laughing before you put it on her. =)

Thanks man. currently there arent any Tiffany and Co branches in Penang, which leaves me with either Pandora or Swarovski

After hooking it, gently run your hands down her back, to her waist and twist her around, look into her eys and say, "beautiful and I'm not referring to the necklace". Brownie points man

wah so fast this topic become so hot!
Pandora - all girls love it, but a plain starter set (just plain bracelet with a charm) can cost around rm700, each add-on charm costs rm200-rm300+....
Swarovski - most girls love it, less famous than pandora, but it is within rm 400+ for budget ppl...
Tiffany - harder to find a cheap ring...i found the price all ranging from rm900 onwards...
***Poh Kong/ Any jewellery seller - now gold price drop crazily...refer for price of ring/ necklace/bracelet = rm155 X (weight of that item) *hence a nice gold ring can be from rm300+ onwards...very nice design summore...

or simply get her a sikat pisang. then tell her "nah, heres ur pisang. budget a bit tight this month. cant afford anything else. so u diam diam sit there n eat ur pisang."
while she bz emoing, perform a magic trick and make a necklace/ring appear from her ear, and say "or would u rather have this?"
both can get a great laugh after that.
