Yes, my girlfriend faced this problem when she was job-hunting about a year ago.

Those companies are trying to save cost, by discriminating some innocent fresh grads.

However, consider yourself lucky if the company call you up and tell you that your expectation is "too high" through the phone. My girlfriend went to a company and went through the interviews, and in the end, they say........ "oh ya, we usually offers RM1200 for fresh degree holder." damn it... dont they understand English ? dumb4$s.......

To all fresh grads looking for jobs, the salary negotiating thingy works only with small/medium companies. Most if not all of the MNC have their own fixed salary scale according to fresh degree class. I do not think you need to negotiate if you're talking with an MNC.
