The CELCOM First Fibre will be soon available soon for consumer perhaps next month or 2 months from now. At the moment, the company has given trial to all Celcom Staff who works in Klang Valley to try it. Once successfully install and using it, then they will be out to customer.

At the moment coverage is limited in Klang Valley and selected area in Sungai Petani (I don't know why, don't as me tongue.gif )

As a trial user for Celcom First Fibre, I have choose 24Mbps plan and so far.. it is awesome. I used to subscribe to UniFi and now I terminated it and use this. Speed very fast and promising thumbup.gif

Speed test:

As far as I've saw, they using public IP like UniFi. In fact, speed also like UniFi..but a bit faster since it 24Mbps (add more 4Mbps lor tongue.gif ). The ping also same when I use the UniFi.

why dont you post speed and ping tests to overseas server? =.= Post local servers saja tarak guna. At least post results of overseas server so we can really gauge how good it would be...

and btw.. they have download quota? Or is it like unifi for show only but not yet implement? Can't see the fineprints of your pictures.. too small..

and do they throttle speed during peak hours like maxis?

Thats what we all want to know too.. But somehow i dont think they will implement it because unifi and maxis also not implement.. If they implement, wont attract much customers.. Or if they do, then unifi and maxis also gonna follow and implement quota dy.. doh.gif

LOL! Any fibre provider in Malaysia also if speed/ping overseas server will never get speed what they stated biggrin.gif

They don't throttle the speed and no download quota.

Btw.. this is the speed I capture for several servers outside Malaysia.

Celcom First Fibre is one of the ISPs available for Sungai Petani's FiberHome Open Access Network.

FiberHome users can choose between Jaring or Celcom as their ISP.

The wireless router supplied if I'm not mistaken is SAME as the Thompson one supplied by Maxis.
ONT is active ethernet modular unit PacketFront.

Celcom First Fibre is not using TM Unifi infra in Sg Petani, they are using Fiber@Home City Network. TM Unifi infra is based on GPON and Fiber@Home is based on Active Point to Point (AP2P) a different FTTH technology.

For online games like Dota2, Counter Strike and many more, the resident can play within community via Fiber@Home LAN network with the speed up to 100Mbps and speed to Internet based on what package they subscribe.

So no torrent cap or download speed cap since this is a Symmetrical Active Point to Point Network (AP2P). Unifi infra is a GPON network where there are using splitter to split the bandwidth to 32 or 64 homes. That why users face slow speed when more users are using. A lot different between GPON shared and AP2P dedicated infra.

Refer to the diagram below.

So celcom fibre

-no torrent cap
-ping good (which better in terms of ping between unifi, celcom and time)
-downloading no cap
-cheaper than unifi
-speed always fast

when this thing come to my place lol..my place have unifi and streamyx but both slow

Unfortunately, this Open Access Network will only be available for new property greenfield project where Fiber@Home working directly with property developer in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Selangor, Seremban, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Miri and Kota Kinabalu.

Previously, property developer do not have any option rather to work with TM which is a"Closed Network", which only allow exclusively for Unifi service only. Now property developer have another option to deploy Fiber@Home Open Access Network for their property where all service providers such as Celcom, Maxis, Astro IPTV, ABN and many more to deliver their services as soon the house got CF approval.

Here are few greenfield project where developer will deploy Open Access Fiber Network manage by Fiber@Home. Each home will have dedicated LAN Fiber infrastructure with speed up to 100 Mbps and upgradeable to 1 Gbps.

Future proof home with choice of multiple service provider can deliver on single fiber infrastructure
