Today, I received several sms for online transactions for my MBB2 AMEX supp card. Immediately call MBB CS to have the card suspended. The amount is very little, less than USD100.

So for those of you who have yet to reset your sms alert to RM1, better you do so instead of getting a shocked when receiving your statement.

was thinking whether the dispute form can be applicable or not if I only realized my card being fraud when received and go through the statement??
*
Yes, it is still applicable. It is just that by the time you receive your statement who knows how much would have been charged. And what nothingz mentioned about all online transactions receiving sms alert is good.

I was told that the transactions were still floating and to recheck after a week then to submit the dispute form.

May I ask, about the dispute form, if the amount of the fraud is not charged to the account after seven days, is it still necessary to fill up and submit the dispute form?
*
If the amount is not charge, then you not owing MBB anything and therefore no need to fill in the dispute form because there is no dispute.

Talking about agoda, the last two hotel bookings I made online was directly with the hotel website because their rate was cheaper than agoda's rate even after taking into consideration of the discount offered with my MBB cards.

So before you book with agoda, you guys should check out the hotel website for comparison.

Yesterday a zenquix reported here, that we can get extra 10% Enrich Miles when converting our Maybankard Treats Points this weekend. Woke up late today and did not go to 1U. I hate going to 1U after 12pm as it kind of difficult to find a parking space and that irritates me big time. Hopefully I can wake up early tomorrow.

Initially I thought it was a Maybank promotion. I just logged into my email and noted that it is an Enrich Promotion. For those of you who have yet to sign up for an Enrich Miles account, do it tomorrow (Sunday) at 1U and get yourself 2000 Enrich Miles for FREE.

To learn more about the benefit of converting our credit card reward points to Enrich Miles, click here to my article where I will show you how we can get up to xx% equivalent cash back by using the right credit card and this includes the Maybankard 2 Cards AMEX.

That is good.

a. When you book the room? Actual Malaysia time and date.

b. Then refer to your statement and please inform us the Posting and Transaction Date.

I've booked a room at agoda.com/maybank, the final bill showing MYR, but when I receive bill via email it is charged as USD, so the final charging will be MYR or USD?  rclxub.gif

Guys I need some feedback as I am republishing an article on Hotel Bookings with Agoda and HotelClub.

1. For Agoda-Maybank Promo, if you use MBB 2 AMEX and select MYR for overseas hotel bookings:

a. will the final bill be in MYR or USD?
b. if MYR above, will there be any overseas conversion/admin fee? I.e. actual amount billed into your statement same as when you book?

Thanks in advance.

This is really good news.

Anyone else earned 5% cash back on Saturday with Agoda?

a. Confirmed final bill in USD.  During payment it is showing MYR, after you paid it will automatically bill in USD, this is sucks! I'm being charged for 3.33 conversion rates! sad.gif

b. My booking is billed in USD, no admin fee. Total bill in MYR = amount in USD * 3.33

Conflicting reports.. hmm.gif rclxub.gif

Update my journey of permanent increase of credit limit:

1) Sent my latest 3 months payslip and EPF statement to mbbcardservices@maybank.com.my on 24th September (Tuesday)
2) Received email to fill up the credit limit increase form on 26th September (Thursday)
3) Replied with the form on 27th September (Friday), after working hours
4) Received SMS that my permanent credit limit increase request has been approved on today.
5) Went immediately to M2U to check, it was indeed increased! biggrin.gif

Very pleased with Maybank's service, very fast. thumbup.gif

Though it was just slightly 2x of my current salary, maybe because I just got a car loan recently, that minuses a bit I think. biggrin.gif
*
Maybank really troublesome to get increase in CL. I myself also cannot get increase in CL because got no payslip but MBB without fail always accommodate my request for increase in temporary CL smile.gif

On the other hand, Citibank keep offering my wife higher credit limit but in view of BNM guideline, Citibank cannot increase it without her consent. Last year they call her to offer the increase in CL for her PremierMiles VS and she rejected it. Today got a letter from Citibank again offering my wife increase in CL and accepting the offer by her simply sending them a SMS. And the thing is, they want to increase her CL to almost as high as mine and my wife got no income and Citibank is well aware of that because when she applied the card she stated that she is a housewife!!! FYI, my wife applied for her Citi PremierMiles VS when she had CitiGold status 2 years back.

Well, Maybank is infamous for this. Not generous in giving CL as well. shakehead.gif

Good that Citibank is being nice to your wife. I hope the bank will contact me to give me increase in CL. laugh.gif
But I don't have Citibank personal card, only corporate card given by company. hmm.gif

I'll be in overseas soon for 2-3 months, that's why need to increase all my cards' CL just in case if I need to swipe for urgent purposes.
*
MBB now generous or not I can't really say but previously there was no diff between MBB and other banks for my case, because over time MBB increased my CL for my then Plat card to that almost similar to the CL of my DA World MasterCard/VI and I never submitted any proof of income to MBB before.

Hi sifu,

I wanted to ask if temporary increase CL, will there any charges? Let's say my current CL is 7k and I temporary increase to 20k. If I swipe about 10k, do I get charged? Sorry for the noob question because HLB charge me for temporary CL increase even I haven't exceed my current CL..

TQ
*
Huh? you got charged for requesting temporary increase in CL by HLB? From Citibank credit card T&C, one will be charge if he/she uses more than his CL without getting approval.

As for MBB, if you request for temporary increase in CL, usually it is for a specific period only and then back to your original CL and there are no fees or whatever charges as long as you pay before the Due Date. And you will get a SMS once they approve your request for temporary increase in CL.

Both the Maybankard 2 Gold and Platinum are FREE FOR LIFE as stated in Post#1. And the extra benefits of the Platinum over the Gold is also stated in Post#1.

Edited-

Been a while since I post here.

Finally is my turn to get fraud from Facebook and Karmaloop for my Amex. I seldom use my card recently. The last possible transaction where the card is not with me is at Dragon-i restaurant.
The rest are just normal auto-billing, payment at cashier (supermarket), at fuel-pump (not counter) for the past 2 months, where the card never leaves my sight.
Unless they randomly manage to generate my card number.

Other than that, the other possibility is, I inform MBB on my last travel.
Usually nowadays I don't inform, since I don't plan to use it. But this time, I need to use and inform MBB through calling the Customer Service. Could it be an insider job ?  hmm.gif

Come back, filled up the fraud form, and got my new replacement card. Now wondering on auto-billing, since MBB says will auto transfer over, but Maxis keeps calling my home (not my mobile ???)  rclxub.gif
*
Yah, our AMEX card can be easily used by others because the CCV numbers are the same when it comes out from the "printing" line.

Example, you can easily also go perform a fraud, just go simply enter your 15 digit # +1 or -1 the last digit and use the CCV number shown in your card and most probably the transaction will be approved.

So maybe not necessary inside job but a cardholder scamming other cardholders!!! Or any of the merchant's staff that recorded our card number and CCV number.

Now as for fraud calls where they know our name, IC number and some cases the card number itself but not the expiry date of our card, one can easily pinpoint the source/culprit of the information by eliminating the dept/persons that have access to our info during the credit card process from application until issuance of card.

No one called me after I called in to CS (immediately after I got 2 sms for online transactions) to report the 2 online fraud cases that were charged to my son's card. Got the dispute form by mail after few day and only submitted it after my statement was out. Only 1 out of the 2 fraud charges appeared in my statement.

Juz want to share here,my gold card has been retained by atm machine in sg when i try to withdrawal money..i call cso immediately and they told me that they cant contact me for long time(i never gv them my sg number) due to fraud case..i was transferred line to collection department and they told me to send them an email regarding this cases and issuing a new card.. until now i send the email more than a week but still no news from them.. very disappointed with their service
*
Well, it was for your own good. And it's your fault for not providing MBB your contact number.

Long ago, HLB also barred my card because they cannot contact me after I used my card.

With SMS alert, all of us should make sure that all our card issuers have our latest contact number so that we will be informed whenever our card is being used.

Bro, odd, you should have gotten the sms alert for online transaction. Better you call MBB CS now and set your SMS alert default value to RM1 and make sure their system got your latest mobile number.

I get sms alert from MBB whenever I use my cards overseas, i.e. Oz, US and SG.

This FB & Karmaloop, no SMS at all.

MBB has my latest number, I've never change my mobile since I started using many years ago.

I not yet start to set my SMS alert though, I didn't get SMS alert when purchase at local supermarket or petrol station.
*
When sms alert was first introduced, MBB system will only sent out sms if you spend outside your spending pattern. Someone even mentioned in sms thread he spent more than RM10K also no sms.

Recommend you call MBB CS now and set your default value to RM0.01 or RM1. Once this is approved, you will get SMS for all your MBB cards no matter how much the amount.
