•Hi all master Sifu's here . This will be my first gaming RiG in a L0o0o0o0ong time (movin from ps3,xbox ) and would appreciate it very much if i can get some constructive feedback/criticism on the below quotation . It's mainly for GAMING & playing HD movies on a 46" Tv which i already have , so it's my first time using a "TV-Screen" as opposed to a PC screen. MY budget was around RM4k , perhaps 5k if justifiable . I'm also really confused if i should go I5-3570k or I7 3770k . Below is a quote i got from a certain company . Appreciate ALL HELP thanks.. cry.gif rclxub.gif

Intel Core I7 3770 RM890
Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 RM459
Gskill RipjawsX 2x4GB DDR3 1866mhz RM240
CM Hyper 212X CPU Cooler RM135
Corsair Carbide 400R Casing RM299
Sesaonic S12 II 620W PSU RM290
WD 1TB Caviar Blue HDD RM199

1. If you do not plan on Overclocking, k versions will serve you no purpose.
2. I'd go with Kingston Value 8Gb = RM18X for RAM
3. Unless you really like Nvidia, I'd go with a Sapphire HD7970 Dual-X. Which would be able to keep up with even a GTX680.

Overall, good build.
*
Thank you for your quick reply! I do plan to overclock it(seems pretty easy based on youtube , just the time needed to stress test and all) . How much would Sapphire HD7970 Dual-X ? Is that able to OC as well? I plan to OC both my graphics card & processor . Just seeing a lot of ppl saying i7-3770k is future proof , while some say i5-3570k is good enough. (Thanks for your feedback on ram issue and cost cutting there too notworthy.gif )

Spec ok, price ok, no bottleneck.
750W and above PSU is suggested if u plan to do multi-gou setup later on.

Are you going to OC the CPU? Hyper 212X doesn't provide enough cooling power if you OC, unless it is minimal OC.
*
Yes i do plan to OC it . I know nuts about this " cooler's" is it a fan or something?

7970 Dual-X is RM1299. If you have some spare, I'd personally recommend the MSI 7970 Lighting Boost Edition which is around RM14XX.

The i5 3570k(Around RM700) can be overclocked safely to 4.4-4.5Ghz with no problems. I wouldn't worry about future-proofing too much, especially not when you can save a ton without it(3770k is close to 1k iirc) as technology moves too fast these days to tell what's going to happen 2months later. I'd recommend getting the i5 and a better GPU.

Thanks man , so i asked them for " MSI 7970 Lighting Boost Edition" he said dont have anymore . RAM as well they dont' have it so using theirs.

Its a heat sink with fan. I suggest you use stock cooler first, then you slowly explore how to OC and stuff, then only you invest on better cooler.
*
So the CM Hyper 212X CPU Cooler is a stock cooler?

Err no. Stock cooler is the one that comes along with your Intel CPU.
*

The CPU already comes with a cooler. And you bought another cooler (Hyper 212X), so you have 2 cooler.

I suggest you use the cooler that comes with the CPU first, don't buy the Hyper 212X. After you explored more on OC, then you can invest more money on better cooler.
*
Ah i see now...coz that hyper 212x cooler was quoted package under RM4k buy them . Thanks i'll think about it..

The i5 3570 should be compared to the 4670, as both of them has unlocked versions and are the fastest in their respective line-ups. If you're thinking of upgrading from the Ivy, I'd hold off till Intel comes out with the tick version of the Haswell. If you'd using something slower/older, why not? smile.gif
*
Please clarify what you meant by "tick version of the Haswell" . And when ? next year?

Intel Core i5 4670K RM729
Asus Z87M-Plus RM690
Plextor M5S 128GB - 299
WD Blue 1TB RM187
Leadtek GTX770 3GB RM1499
Corsair TX750M / Rosewill Tachyon 750w - RM400~
Silverstone TJ08E - RM350

Around 4k. The 4670k CPU is only for overclocking, so if you don't plan on doing that, you can swap it for the cheaper 4670. If you do plan on OCing, water cooling might be plausible... Corsair H80i maybe?
*
i5 4670k is HASWELL chip you are referring to?

Xeon E3's performance is quite similar to i7 3770..only lack of IGP..
*
So if your gonna be gaming and getting a dedicated GPU , is Xeon E3 better then current Haswell that has IGP ?

QUOTE(KSinY @ Jun 12 2013, 04:15 PM)
why dont get gtx770? Zotac gtx770 4GB is about 1549 with better and improve features.
*
What would be the main difference of the 2GB version vs the 4GB version?
