Hi guys, just realize the existence of this thread, after receiving comments from other forumers, this is my dekstop build, 80% gaming purpose and mayb rendering as well. is it ok for a 3k budget to build this gaming rig?
Processor Core i5 3570 4 Cores/4 Way/GMA HD SC:1155 | GHz:3.40 | cache:6M ====[RM610] Motherboard MSI B75MA-P45 =============================[RM229] RAM APACER D3 PC1333 (8gb ram 1pieces)====================[RM155] HDD 1TB W.D. BLUE 32M 7200 RPM SATA 6.0====================[RM180] GPU LEADTEK GTX670 2GB D5 256BIT=======================[RM1050] Power supply Corsair 650W VS ( A/80+)======================[RM259] Casing COOLER MASTER ELITE SERIES CASING ================[RM149] Monitor Asus 24" VS247N ===============================[RM600]
Totall all added up was RM3252, i might spend another RM150 on stuff like keyboard, mouse and speaker
So total final is RM3402............
BTW,i got few question to ask since my topic have quite slow reply from the forumers,
1. Is leadtek gtx670 good? because it have the lowest price compare with other brand like asus, gigabyte, palit... 2. Why most of the ppl choose to buy 660 or 680 instead? there are very few amount ppl targetting 670..... 3. MY budget is actually around 2.9k, which mean this has already exceeded my figure, i am fine to pay it up to 3.4k, but is it really worth my money to build this dekstop for 80% gaming purpose, rendering ?
Thank you.

QUOTE(ezmeer94 @ May 24 2013, 12:54 PM) Yes it's a good build overall 1.leadteak us just as good as others it's just cheaper because it uses reference designs 2. 670 is a great you actually and can be overclocked to 680 performance 3. The configuration is good and worth it thx for ur reply, but i saw some comments from tomshardware, there are ppl suggesting not to OC leadtek GTX 670 due to the poor cooler they have, and they got no backplate which i dun even know what was that. Most of the ppl suggest to take asus and gigabyte if really wan to OC [FYI, my gaming room is quite hot btw, that why my laptop is busted]

QUOTE(CheaTeRz @ May 24 2013, 02:15 PM) what negative comment? anyway, if you search in google GTX xxx issue or HD 7xxx issue, there are tons of issues user having that might as well don't buy any of the graphic cards still, which issues are you referring to anyway? yeah its a good card, can check up the reviews. basically AMD GPU are cheaper at the same par of performance within the same tier of Nvidia lifespan of AMD GPU.... and my fren told me nvidia GPU have better software update (i think he is talking about the driver update ,right? )

QUOTE(ezmeer94 @ May 24 2013, 03:41 PM) Sapphire 7970ghz Performance of gtx680 at Gti 670 price As for negative comment every manufacturer sure will have a dud unit somehow My 7870 and 7770 never have problems. Touchwood look like you have poison me , but why all the benchmark that i found on the internet stated 7970 is weaker than 670 ? i just took a view on some price list, there are two type of 7970 in sapphire brand SAPPHIRE HD7970 3GB D5 384BIT OC [1299] SAPPHIRE HD7970 3GB D5 384BIT VAPOR-X [1399] I just dont get it, since we can OC ourselve, but why many GPU they come out a OC version itself?? what the point? and the difference between these two are RM100... sorry i am very new to GPU still

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ May 24 2013, 08:30 PM) I suppose u are refering to a wrong one. There's a different between 7970 and 7970 Ghz The pre-OC is for someone lazy to do manual OC. Most of the time pre-oc'ed version offers better cooling solution. thx for reply, so the two GPU i listed earlier is Ghz or non Ghz? how to differentiate

QUOTE(ezmeer94 @ May 25 2013, 11:38 AM) That's a good setup If u want to oc get a k CPU Else normal one is fine hi there, is me , erm i decided to buy sapphire hd 7970 vapor-x ghz edition 3gb, because i can get it for RM1200 which i think its a good deal, but the processor that i m going to buy was i5 3570 , which is not good to OC right? i m just afraid i might get bottleneck when gaming because i will OC my GPU, i found some comments from tomshardware, there is a guy who use same processor as i do , get bottleneck on crysis 3, is it better to get 3570k? oh ya BTW my PSU Corsair 650W VS ( A/80+) enough to support my GPU ,right?

Hi guys, i decided to cut my budget by select cheaper price of PSU, my CPU is i5 3570 and GPU is sapphire HD7970 Ghz edition vapor -X , but can i choose Corsair CX series [650W=RM155] or [750W=RM195] ????? The price is much cheaper compare with others brand and series, i doubt the quality though......
Oh ya , can CM elite 431 casing fit in my GPU ? as i know, my GPU is quite big in size 185mm if i m not mistaken, thank you

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ May 26 2013, 09:53 PM) Its the builder series, one of the lower class PSU from corsair, but the quality still at least something that u can trust. Again, not a first time see ppl keep skim on PSU. You got almost everything the best of the best, yet not willing to spend little more for better ones. 650W and 750W CX series is ok as long as u can find it cheap. yea, i feel you that somehow i have to agree with you, again u r the 2nd forumer who poisoned me to get 32" monitor and better PSU QUOTE(CheaTeRz @ May 26 2013, 10:02 PM) not sure bout it since not enough review that i can found of but yeah since it was from corsair, definitely can be trusted for me anyway 600w = RM210 still is cheap for me i think it is cheap only if i buy everything from him to build my dekstop... haha

guys, is this PSU good enough to support i5 3570k with hd 7970 ghz edition? i m thinking to get this, because its only selling on RM225.00 for a 650w PSU, is AeroCool good enough to compete against corsair or xigmatek PSU?
-AeroCool Templarius Imperator 650W 80PLUS BRONZE Power Supply
and also have you guys heard about this casing before? i m also thinking to take this casing because the price is RM139, its cheaper than elite 430 series... BTW can it fit in my processor and GPU as well? -X-FIVE RTX C2 PLUS GAMING CASING USB 3.0 WITH SIDE PANEL
thank you

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Nov 1 2013, 03:42 PM) I think GTX 780 is quite far apart. Actually the R9 280X is quite value for money, the cheapest I see is RM1159, but you can ask the seller for any promotional price, likely below RM1.1k. Cheapest R9 280X - Sapphire Dual-X OC, RM1159 Cheapest GTX 770 - Zotac GTX 770, RM1269 Cheapest GTX 780 - Zotac GTX 780, RM1849 i dont see any revised on the price of nvdia 770 still, even though many sources like techpowerup and tomshardware claimed that NVDIA reduced the price. The cheapest r9 280x is powercolor r9 280x RM1049 and sapphire r9 280x dual X rm1089........

QUOTE(warlock89 @ Nov 1 2013, 04:39 PM) Basically i see that the GTX770 and R9-280X is almost has the same performance but R9-280X is cheaper in price . . I think i'll order the R9-280X toxic . . over my budget, got to order the powercolor or the dual X OC version around rm1k
