Hi guys, I need some help here. As my rig is more than 5 years old and my mobo recently got struck by lightning, I guess it's time for me to "move on" and get a new one. tongue.gif My current rig is running in:

i5 750 2.67ghz (32bit)
ATI HD4870
16gb ram

Bold means I am hoping it can stay if is possible, italic means I know it's gonna get going.

[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] Keyboard mouse, HDD, monitor

[Monitor resolution] 1900x1200

[Game or software that use frequently] HoN, COD, Diablo 3, photo and video editing

[Personal Preference Brand] Nvidia please

My mobo condition is like few USB port is failing me, my unifi port is dead and one of my ram slot is dead as well. As for my GC, it is really old and I wanted to have a change to keep up the current game settings. tongue.gif So should I be fixing it or get a new mobo and a GC?

Thank you in advance.. notworthy.gif

It's hard to find a new 1156 socket motherboard. It anyone has,it must be an old stock. So,i suggest you might wanna look at second hand motherboard @ garage sales.

Can you please list out your current setup?and how much you're willing to spend?
*
GC: ATI HD4870
MOBO: P7P55D
Proc: i5 750 2.6ghz
Ram: 8GB

Since you mentioned that my proc is too old, then maybe GC, MOBO and Processor have to go. :/

It's 5 year old rig already so I am intend to change a new one.

[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] Keyboard mouse, HDD, monitor, RAM

OFF TOPIC: Do anyone happen to know any place that offers cheap service for repairing the mobo? In case is too expensive to get a new rig maybe I'll just fix all the faulty parts and be done with it instead of burning a huge hole in my wallet. :/

What is your PSU?

Anyway, try to survey for 2nd hand motherboard inside Garage Sales(if you dun mind)..You can get 'em at cheap price instead of repairing your mobo.

As for the GPU,i would suggest Zotac GTX760 2GB at RM799.But you need at least a good 500-600W of PSU to run it..(unless your PSU is good enough,no need to replace)

My PSU should be more than enough as it is 700w. And I am looking for around RM500 or lower due to budget problem.

Sorry for having so many question, but what game can I play on with that GC? And is that GC compatible with P7P55D?

EDIT: If I were to build a PC with 1.5k budget, can anyone recommend me the specs? PSU (700w) can reuse, not planning to buy any additional HDD, DVD driver. And hopefully can reuse the RAM.

Thanks in advance.

Why?E3-1230v3 is much better than i5.It has i7's performance and would be helpful in photo/video editing..
*
Really? I thought the sequence was i7 / i5 / i3 / Xeon® / Pentium® / Celeron® tongue.gif

That is correct. Xeon E3 1230 v3 is actually very similar to Core i7 4770. The only thing it lacks is only the integrated graphics (IGP) and 0.1 GHz slower only. smile.gif

One last question, if my GC suddenly die, means I can't use my PC at all since there's no backup GC available, right?
